I agree. Unless the US went to a Parliamentary type of government like Great Britain, I don't ever see a third party candidate having a chance for the presidency. As hated as both of these candidates are, Johnson is still getting only around 15% of the vote. I think that's the best an Independent will ever be able to hope for. This election year is a perfect storm for a third party candidate, and they're still not close...There will be no viable third party this century.
I actually wish we would someday get a strong third party candidate with a powerful backing. I just have my doubts under this current political system that it will ever happen.I think we'll see a viable 3rd party sooner, rather than later. Perot was on the verge of making a real dent, before he went kinda bonkers, and before he named that fool as VP. More and more people are fed up with the Hypocrisy of both parties.
While I'm voting for Gary Johnson, he's not a compelling personality. I think if you had a really vibrant, common sense, great Communicator, compelling personality, like a Mark Cuban, running 3rd party this cycle, he'd have a somewhat realistic chance.
That will grow in 2020 if Hillary or Drumpf are as pathetic in office as they are as candidates.

Don't worry, parties change. In 50 years neither party will probably look anything like they do now. The scale moves right and left with different generations. Ronald Reagan moved the scale quite a bit right by the time he got out of office. Even the Democrats moved right. I see the scale slowly starting to move back left. But it could look totally different in just a few presidential terms depending on which party is winning and has the most success. That's politics. Stick around long enough, it will change...You might be Underestimating this "Youth", these Millenials, Generation Z and....Alpha (born after year 2000). When you say "not within this Century".
That post stunned and depressed me.
Actually Bernie Sanders is the only "real" independent in the race. I don't know what Trump is since the only thing he's ever been is a reality show star who has never run for office. But he still carries a lot of the republican ideals. This century? how about this fall - Trump is clearly a third party candidate

More facebook bullshit....Others are correct, that guy has nothing to do with democrats...That picture is from when republicans didn't have a vote in Colorado...
Seymour I agree...
