An amazing 71% of Arizona's road games this season have gone Under and we expect that trend to continue tonight as the Diamondbacks complete their series against the Cincinnati Reds.
Arizona have won four straight to improve to 64-55 (.538) but still trail the AL West leading Giants by 9 games. We often say that MLB has more streaks than any other sport and as one example Arizona has now beaten Cincinnati SIXTEEN consecutive times.
Rookie right-hander Brandon Webb is 7-5 with a 2.45 ERA this season. He boasts stellar numbers for any pitcher, let alone a rookie. Webb ranks third in the NL in ERA (2.45) and WHIP (1.10) and fourth in batting average against (.213). He has not allowed more than two earned runs in any of his last five starts and has an excellent road ERA of 1.74. It's no surprise then that the Under has cashed in nine of his last ten starts.
Cincinnati have slumped to 52-66 (.441) this season and fifth in the NL Central. Following last night's effort they have scored just one run in their last 28 innings! The Under is 5-1-1 in the Reds last seven overall.
Tonight they start former Athletics pitcher Aaron Harang who is a combined 2-3 this season with a 5.25 ERA. He will be encouraged by the effort last night of teammate John Bale who, in just his second major league start, blanked Arizona on three hits through six innings.
These teams have combined for just six runs TOTAL in the first two games of this series...while the Under is 6-1 recently when they clash in Cincinnati with an average of just 5.71 runs being scored in these contests.
Once again we expect Arizona to win tonight however we believe the Under offers the most value.
Recommended Play: Under 8.5 -125
Good luck
