Early Plays:

Louisville (-2)
I think the whole emotion of Billy Minardi day and Francisco Garcia's loss will play a small factor, but I also think the mentor (Rick Pitino) wants to beat the student (Billy Donovan).

Neither one of these teams can really exploit each other's deficiency, which is inside play.

Wisconsin-Milwaukee (+13)
I think this line is high b/c of Alando Tucker's return for the Badgers. Remember to go against conventional wisdom in this case. When a team loses a star player, take them in their next game and when a team gets a top player back, go against them in that first game.

UWM is a quality road team and they covered LW at NC State.

Those who have observed my picks know that I have ridden Toledo a few times early in this season. I will have to get off the train temporarily today.

One for 1 PM:

Detroit (-6)
Toledo is 5-0 overall and 4-0 on the road, yet they are 6-point dogs, to a team that they are seemingly better than?

Well, Detroit is 2-2, but 2-0 this year and always tough in Calihan Hall. UDM's 2 losses are on the road at Duke and at Wisconsin.

Their 2 home wins were over Western Michigan by 21 and Oakland by 16. These are 2 decent teams in their own right.

Missouri (+5')
I think the Tigers have had a lot of bad press this week and are eager to come out and play well against a good team in a game away from the Hearnes Center.

Eventually, the Zags have to be tired for traveling across the country and back, which they have done 2-3 times already.

Butler (+6')
IU finally played well up in South Bend, but they are counting on a walk-on (Ryan Tapak) to give them support. Butler will get up for this game.

I'm sorry about Detroit. They were up 8 with a minute to go but could not hit FT's. They win by 4, but failed to cover the 6.
