Well no one would know you are posting unless they happen to wander into that thread. If you post a thread people see it is you. Big difference
Anyway I don't wanna clog up someones thread. Just curious since you usually do have strong good opinions

True but MMA forum there is only like 3-4 guys reading it so if I post it here seems like Erock, MM when he is around, you, etc will see it.

You're probably right in general, but traffic is so dead around here now that just seems like post it here and talk to the few people that read this sub-forum.

I did take your comments to mean that I never post picks though, which was mainly what I was responding to.

I also couldn't do a thread like this because I just don't have much volume w/ MMA. I bet like 10-15 fights a year (bet more during pandemic when it was only show in town but I posted those here I believe)

Great call on Volk and The Bullet. +120 by TKO seemed too good to be true, but I grabbed it at that same price. She is the GOAT, but yet still gets less respect than that overhyped machine, Amanda Rousey used to get. I just stuck to the money line on Volk. Exciting fight, and was nearly submitted in the 4th despite the clear victory. I have difficulty having the cajones to pick 5 rounders to go the distance.

Just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to post your picks. Seems pretty dead in here as of late, but I'm glad you still post. Good luck and I'll be tailing on some of the picks.

Jdub,

No worries. Proceed with caution, I’ve been pretty cold the last six weeks or so.

Best of luck with your action.

Usman is very good. Colby has to adjust in this fight
I think he needs to use those punches in bunches to try for sneaky takedowns. Wrestling is even but Usman has the strength advantage so too much grappling could be problematic
Colby porobably needs to catch Usma with something he doesn't see coming because he takes strikes real well
But lots of value in Covington +
If you bet Usman being like 3-1 you have to be real confident and bet big

I am just gonna watch
Hopefully Colby smashes the fake Nigerian
As fighters I like both these guys

I like Covington to take the title. I thought he was winning the first fight and I think he’s the superior wrestler, which will come into play this time around.

Tough to go against a talent like Usman, but this line is inflated IMO. Time for, “and new” and close the trilogy summer 2022.

I don't think he was winning the first fight and I don't really think he's a better wrestler either. RDA took him down, no one has even come close to doing anything like that with Usman IIRC.

But I do think there is a pathway for him to just win 3/5 rounds on volume/output and perhaps his cardio come into play this time (easier not to have cardio issues in a fight you are in control of like Usman in the first fight) and he just grinds out 3 rds.

At +500 I think that is worth a small bet. But +260 don't really care for, honestly don't seem him winning any other way than what I just described. That's how he wins all his fights really.

You are correct...

First off, I hope Covington does win, but I think he knows Usman is the stronger and simply better all around fighter. His path to victory is as stated, however, I don't think he's strong enough to hold Usman there...Could he catch him, sure, but I don't think he has enough power for the KO, unless it's something crazy like a spinning backfist...

I'm watching this one from the sidelines, though, it didn't interest me when it was announced, but I'll watch it. It's overshadowing some complete bangers on the undercard...

yeah I think 5-1 on Colby decision was right, he gets there on that result more than 1/6th.

Masvidal is out vs Edwards...I'm not much of an Edwards fan but they should just let him fight Usman at this point. He's won like 11 in a row, if he keeps winning it is gonna have to happen eventually, just get it over with and see what he has. If he can keep it standup it could be interesting.

Seems like Usman is sick of fighting guys that can't make him big money though.

I like Thompson vs Edwards. Feed Magny to Masvidal. If Thompson can get by Edwards, let him have Usman for his retirement party...True retirement party I think is Masvidal, hopefully in his home state of SC, either way, though...

Come to think of it, Magny could very easily be the quick replacement for Masvidal, and I think Edwards would take that fight. Masvidal injury hasn't been disclosed, though, so no timeframe is known, but if Edwards wants to fight this year and remain active, he better convince the UFC to let him bang as scheduled...

I thought I heard the UFC was trying to find a replacement for Masvidal, but Edwards wasn’t interested and planned to hold off expecting they’ll line him up with Usman next. Not sure if that’s accurate though.

UFC typically doesn’t like fighters waiting around, unless it’s the UFC forcing the waiting. Wouldn’t be shocked if they jump Edwards with Luque as a result.
