IOWA -7.5

Drake has no business being in this ballgame. I would guess that it is only 7.5 because it is an in-state game. Iowa is clearly the better team and should be able to cover this small number. They bounce back after NCar loss. :suomi:

This line scares the hell out of me. Thought it would be 13+.

Good Luck to you!!

The Des Moines Register has Alford saying they will not have a Hawaii hangover. Had the team home last Sat. and practiced Sat, Sun, and Mon. Very focused and will not overlook Drake. On the other hand Dr. Tom Davis would love nothing better than to give the Hawks a nice sized **** burger. As a long time Hawkeye fan I am taking Iowa -7 (local) and -4 1h (oly). I think they will pound Drake. Drake is very avg. team, but decent at Knapp Center. Iowa's Last 3 trips to Des Moines have all been wins totaling 7 pts. Look for that trend to stop tonight!! Also I heard him on an interview Monday saying how they need to focus on these types of games, basically saying if they lose to teams they should beat they can cross off a win vs. Louisville, Texas, etc. in the eyes of the committee. In short bad loss cancels good win.

Thanks guys. FYI 86-66 YTD last year posted her at the RX. Had one of my worst years ever in college football going about 39-33 posted here this year. Hopefully that means I will make it up in college hoops. Lets get off to a good start tonight.

I like this play as well. Iowa is very underrated (for now). I saw them play in Hawaii, very good team. Much better than I had expected.

Tradition at Drake as this line low, but fundamentally, Iowa should take them out by dd. I just can't play it, because my system doesn't point to them, and I'm trying to be strict with my system plays for NCAA BB (whenever I stray and try to use my brain I get burned).

GL to everyone on this game!

Hansen and GoUH thank you. I have been dabbling with some small bets in college basketball so far just to get a feel and now am ready to dive in. My style in college basketball is much like my style in football. I simply look at the line and determine who will cover it. I base this mainly on talent though revenge, style of play, recent performance, etc factor in. Sometimes I predict what I expect the line to be and what I would be willing to play my selection at.
For example last night I liked Okie State to get it done against a weak SMU squad. I expected the line to fall around 16 or so and I was willing to lay that much wood. I have a friend who is an OSU grad and also lived in Dallas for awhile. He said that often times when OSU plays at SMU more than 50% of the fans are from Okie State. Really no homecourt advantage for the ponies. When the line came out at -11 I jumped on it. I fully expected it to go up but it actually went to -10.5 for awhile. Anyway, it was an easy cover.

As for the Iowa line. I thought that it would also start at around 12 or more. When I saw that it was below 8 I jumped on it.

Thanks Newbee.

It was one of those games that looked to easy to be true and was! I am constantly amazed at all those people that don't bet a game because it looks to easy. Well, not only did people not make money on this one but some were even convinced that Drake was the play as this line actually dropped to -7 by tipoff or shortly before at Olympic.

I could not resist this line when it dropped to 7. I figured if it looked to easy and I lose then so be it.

Take care,
Ku

That may have been a trap game; that didn't work.
