For the time being, which is a few years, ethanol is the best answer.

can you please provide a link of the cost efficiency of ethanol as a global substitute for oil

e-85 is cheaper but your gas mileage also goes down. It's pretty much a wash.

Hope 1 ,more nuclear power plants are on the way in the U.S. the process takes something like 5 years to set up from the planning stages to when they are operational, bureaucracy plays a big part I'm sure. Jim Cramer on the show Mad Money is a huge fan of the company Shaw Group, one of the world leaders in building nuclear power plants. He had their CEO on the show one day and they have filed the applications to build, they don't expect anything operational until about 2014 - 15, but eventually it will happen.

Another interesting point the CEO made was they estimate around 1 trillion dollars worth of potential business globally over the next 20 years for companies that build nuclear power plants
