UCLA + 7.5 5 UNITS

I actually laid off of the ASU/USC game.Did not post it and did not play it which is something I did not expect to do.ASU has been known after games like this to come back down to earth in a big way.I expect to see a hungry and talenetd UCLA team come into Sun Devil Stadium and give a down and potentaily flat Devils squad a big time game.A straight up win would not surprise me here.UCLA moved the ball on Cal and they will do so against ASU.Should be a close one.

We start on similar ground my friend...with more to come.

Teams beat UCLA on the ground. ASU simply cannot run the ball. This may be the only team UCLA holds under 100 yards rushing all year. Take the points!!!

Great minds think alike. I have to see what the injuries look like but do not see how ASU can attack Bruins on the ground. I also do not like ASU matchup versus teams that are balanced. They can defend one or the other but typically not both.

Word is that they may be looking ahead to game at Cal on Oct 30th. I only heard this from a couple of players though so it may not be the gospel.

Prophet...it's sad really.

Being from the northwest Washington was the only link to football greatness in the 80's. It is perhaps the saddest program in the country right now. They screwed Slick Rick bad so they get whats coming to them. Some people say that these are his recruits and they would still suck. But Rick has won everywhere he goes, he has a great offensive mind and relationship with the players. They would not be one of the worst teams in the country if he was there still.

I'm taking the points only because I think Carroll has a heart and will have the second team in by half. Actually, I'm not betting it, but will side with the points.

On another note, Cal has a look-ahead spot this week, but Arizona looks like they are getting worse, and Cal is extremely fast and athletic. Tough spotl, but I can't see Arizona keeping Cal out of the 40's, which means a Cal cover.

Cal laying 22 at Az seems like a lot but they really can name the score of the game if they want, but that is the big ? mark here. Will they rest a number of their starters in the 2nd half and start to look ahead once up 35-0 or so.Tough call their. I am leaning towards a scrappy Stanford team back at home to beat an Oregon team that is coming off a win over a bad AZ team and average Wazzou team.Oregon State is favored by 8 over Wazzou and of course Swooger is out for the season so that one is a tough call with a lean towards OSU.

Arizona plays tough at home. Not saying I'm taking them though. I have to do a little more research into this one. Arizona has a real problem with teams that throw well, but may be able to keep it within the spread here.

UW being down is truly horrible for WC footbal. Besides the screwing over of Slick Rick, who despite what folks thought about him, could coach and recruit, this program turned south when the "Head Dog" Don James left and they put Lambright in control. Lambo was a good guy but not very personable. Then AD Hedges came on board and all heck broke loose. It's amazing to fire a guy for an office pool when every year when I go to Vegas for MMadness I see tons of coaches, broadcasters, etc in the sportsbooks. They are not there to watch the games on the big screens. What's the difference? The worst part UW being down is now the better teams in Pac10 raid the Seattle area and take be best talent. Also teams like Boise come in and take talent. It will take a great coach and a great recruiter to come in and get things back in place.

Flying under the radar, Stanford on the farm laying 3-4 V Oregon. I think Trees in a nice spot and they are tough on the Farm. Not sure Oregon will be able to move the ball against salty Stanford defense.

I'm staying away from Zona right now as they seem to be losing players which means they are getting paper thin on an offense that is bad enough. Also think Cal could realize that they have two games of note left on their schedule left (ASU and Stanford). I think Cal has figured it out.

I know it's not in the Pac 10 but does anyone think Fresno goes to Boise and wins? Why is it that every year FSU starts out like a house on fire and then goes down hill by mid season? I think Boise the last couple of weeks has been focusing on Fresno and not paying attention to past opponents. I think they come out and spank the Dogs.

i agree with you on Fresno. The points look good and they are the kind of team that can end this streak even with them having some bad games recently.I am on Stanford as well mentioned it above. I like this spot for them and they are the better team.Oregon still does not impress me.

I'm leaning toward Oregon and here's why.

BUDDY TEEVINS IS A DICK!

No, he's probably a nice guy, but he still doesn't know how to hold a lead, get's paranoid and plays it safe, and will get outcoached here. Stanford has some great talent but it is not being used very well at this point. They are a better team than Oregon; however, I see this being a close game, and Oregon very well could win.

PP,

I actually like Boise in the FSU/BSU game. I am not sure what happens to FSU from mid season on but they seem to go in the tank. I think BSU has been overlooking the opposition in anticipation of this one. Pinegar is just like DAnderson of Oregon St. Not sure it is possible for them to play within them selves.

WOW Prophet... I didn't even see this thread until after I did my write up on UCLA/ASU. Go check it out.

And as far as that line USC -3,000,000 over Washington.... heh. No I didn't think that would happen this life. But Norm Chow is a classy guy and isn't they kind of coach who would run it up... look at last weeks game... I don't even remember if USC scored in the second half. No, I don't think they did.

What I think is wierd about the Washington situation is (incredibly) a case where the last place team plays the first place team. With noting to lose, these sort of contests can go a bit toward the dog (ATS), if USC lets up some or, if you think Carrol and Chow are charitable types, they may "let" the Huskies feel good about themselves just as a humanitarian gesture. But being an Oregonian, I say f*ck Washington and I hope USC racks up at least 50 vs. the Huskies, puts a collar on them and mushes them like a team of sled dogs all over the field.

PS... Fresno can be Boise's worst nightmare and they know it. This is a Fresno sort of situation that they like... been that way for some years too if you go back and think about it.

Wash + 34.5 4 units

USC is off two BIG games at home and now play a bad Wash team.I am guessing they will be somewhat flat/down after these two games and it will not be easy to get up for this team. they will get up big and will call off the dogs in the 2nd half. The coaches of USC has respect for the Wash program and I dont think they will over do it here.

Prediction:

Oregon State - 8 4 Units

Tough place to play although Cal made it look easy a few games ago_OSU is better than their record and should finish strong.Wash State new QB in this environment is just not a good thing.OSU should handle this game with ease and I have no problem laying the points.Look for OSU to play well in from of thier home crowd and make up for the Cal debacle.

Fresno State + 10.5 -120 3 Units

Fresno has taken yet another dump but Boise even with their continued winning of games has not impressed me all that much. Average teams have been staying with them and Fresno has the talent to beat them.I will grab the points in this one as Fresno has a chance to "right the ship" here.

Mr ProphetablePicks

I like the Beavers of Oregon State this week as well. I REALLY LIKE the OVER in the UCLA/ASU game. Both offenses should have a good amount of success vs the others lack of defense. We know UCLA's defense is **** so QB Walters and RB Hill should have a field day. UCLA could be the play here even with their piss poor defense as ASU could be struggling with the let-down system as they were just removed from the unbeaten ranks last week by USC...
