Betting on sports is about finding value. I've actually had a great week, and its because of finding great value in the lines and great situational plays.
The Phils were a great play against this week, their manager practically told you that. Yet, the Nats were in the +180 range the entire series. Colorado showed me in their dismal 7-0 shutout loss on Monday (I lost with them that game) that they packed it in. I played against them every day since as SD swept them and Houston beat them after that. I played Pittsburgh twice against Arizona, splitting the games out but winning at +190 for a profit despite going 1-1.
Last night Baltimore was a solid dog using stats and psychology. I posted about the play yesterday. The Rays were a gift yesterday, the Yankees clinched the day before winning both halves of a DH and resting most of their starters. This against a team going all out for the win, and despite the price were playable.
Many here have blasted teams, cursing up and down, criticizing play because of a lost bet....or better for losing a poorly thought out bet. Laying big juice is tough over the long term, yet people continue to do it, and will do it in situations that are less than ideal.
I will agree that with 2 teams going nowhere, that it can be tough. You just have to be selective and find the best value. Great comment about Boston laying juice, this is exactly what I'm talking about. If you don't feel the value is there, then pass. I haven't looked at the game yet, but laying juice on a team running that bad is tough. Good luck to you in the playoffs.
