Boston +122 over MONTREAL

OT included. Enough is enough already. Montreal has become the Bruins’ daddy. The Habs have defeated Boston eight straight games, which dates back to May of 2014 and includes two games this season. Boston has to be sick of losing to this team and one has to figure that they’ll dig down as deep as they possibly can in an attempt to get this proverbial monkey off its back. We cannot over emphasize how difficult it is to defeat the same team three or four games in a row but when the fight is a fair one, like this one, it’s even more difficult. Yet somehow Montreal just shows up and defeats this bitter rival every time. The B’s will leave nothing on the table here.

Montreal v Boston is one of sports’ great rivalries. These two have played some of the greatest regular season games and playoff series in NHL history. Whether it’s the regular season or the playoffs, there is an electric atmosphere in the air when they hook up. The Canadiens dominance over the Habs, that is now approaching two years, is just one those odd anomalies in sports that cannot last much longer. Boston is too good to keep losing to this equal every single time they play. Furthermore, the Habs aren’t in great form right now. Montreal has scored just two goals in each of its last four games. They have one victory over that span against Columbus in a game they were down 1-0 in for most of it and were outshot in, 33-27. The time is right for Boston to end this nonsense and we trust the B’s to play one of their best games of the year and come out on top.

Sherwood, totally respect your analysis of games but even without Price playing Boston does not match up well with Montreal.

The forcheck of Montreal's speedy forwards gives Boston's D fits as they are slow and not great puck handlers overall.

Also Rask struggles very badly against Montreal. Boston would be better with Gustafson in net.

I wish you luck tonight as I would love to see Boston come away with a win tonight.
For me I think I will be on the sideline tonight.

Thanks Hawk. With all due respect, there are plenty of teams with speedy forwards. Speedier than Montreal in fact, like Detroit, and a few others and Boston is just fine against them. While I completely understand that Montreal owns the Bruins, I'm not buying the speedy forwards giving them fits angle. I've seen Boston play toe-to-toe and even dominate teams with speedy forwards. Personally, I think it's all mental. Montreal is in their heads and if they can forget about that, I like their chances tonight. Not saying they're going to win but I do like their chances.
Best of luck and I don't mean to tell you about the Bruins because you likely know a lot more about them than I do, living in Boston and all, but it's just how I see it.

No offense taken at all. Nothing better than sharing of opinions. Always something to learn.

I agree that Montreal is in their heads, take Rask for example.

Good luck with the play! Thanks as always for posting your analysis

Habs might be looking ahead to Detroit a little tomorrow night too.
