Nice job W#1

Tigers came out like gangbusters back in 1984 and went wire-to-wire, finishing it off by handling San Diego rather easily....those Tigers teams could have won a bit more than they did as they did get upset by Kansas City the following year.

THAT WAS AN IRONIC ANSWER...I was concentrating on batting average highs since 355 is a great batting average and I was trying to find who hit 355, but Tony Gwynn (sp?) hit just a bit less than that for the highest batting average in 1984. So, I found a couple of batters had been at bat 355 times and tossed that out as a stupid, but true answer...Howard Johnson of the Detroit Tigers. Laughin Loud!! Great thread Journeyman. tulsa

Tulsa thats very ironic! You pick a guy from the very TEAM and YEAR and didn't realize it...

I didn't know what to make of your answer at first....I had to go back and double check to see if Joihnson did bat 355 times (which he did)

Too funny!
