Do you take any juice hit or other penalty for doing this beyond a regular wager?

No. Its basically a back to back play.

But you have to be careful some books wont let you bet any more than the original play. So if you risking 550 to win 500 some books wont let you risk more then the 500 that you would win. I know that Heritage would let me risk that entire 1050 thats in play. May want to ask about Jam's policy on that.
