I’m going to take a shot with the Pelicans. They lost the Southwest division to Dallas, but still are in control of their own destiny. They want to win out and avoid the play-in tournament. This is a bet I like based on the situation more then how the teams match up against each other.

Lakers ML (-110), 1

New Orleans doesn’t seem like a team who really believes. Or has the right mixture of talent. They have a ton of depth on the wing and a lot of players who deserve to be in nba rotations. That doesn’t mean it is a good mix to make a playoff run. They lost their lead in the southwest division to Dallas. They lost their hold on the six seed on the last day of the regular season by losing to these Lakers at home. Now they have to turn around and play them two days later in an even bigger spot. The Lakers have the two best players on the court and I expect them to get the benefit of the whistle if it’s a close game late. I also don’t think this number is going to be better if you wait. There might be a point where the Lakers take money and people bet the Pelicans as dogs. But I don’t know how many people are going to wake up tomorrow and want to bet the Pelicans to beat the Lakers straight up. GL

I might bet the Hawks plus the points. Not sure yet. Favorite prop tonight is Butler over 5.5 assists.

Looks like a 1-0 start unless this Heat game goes to overtime. I want the points in this upcoming game, simple as that. I think these teams are pretty even and the Bulls aren’t likely to pull away.

Rotten day. Bad beat with the Heat under. Hawks were awful. Happy to put this one behind me.

I am interested in Sacramento against OKC if they can get past the Pelicans. Maybe not to win the series, but I think they can take the Thunder to the limit. The Clippers series price is also hard to ignore. Who would have thought a couple months ago that they would be dogs in a first round series against anybody? I’m going to monitor the Kawhi situation and take it from there. I don’t know if I want to bet anything tomorrow. The Heat and Pelicans are basically in the same spot. They don’t have their best player in a must win game at home against a comparable opponent. I need to look into those games more tomorrow.

I lean the Lakers tonight, but I’m not going to bet it at 6.5. I wish I bet 7 or 7.5. At this point, it’s a pass.
