WNBA Season Long Thread 2024

Here are some win totals I like. The season starts tomorrow, kind of snuck up on me. These are all two unit bets. I often will bet two units on win totals due to how long I have to wait to get paid out. I want it to be worthwhile after the wait. Not sure if I will bet either game tomorrow. Enjoy the season!

Courtney Vandersloot over 6.5 assists (-135), 1*

One more bet for tonight. Vandersloot is an old school point guard. She’s not a great scorer, but she runs the offense and tries to set up her teammates for buckets. With options like Ionescu, Stewart and Jones against a Fever team who isn’t good defensively, seven assists is very doable.

The Fever have gotten worked over in their first three games. The Liberty took their foot off the gas at the end of Indiana’s most recent game which is why the Fever only lost by 11. I think this is a good spot for Indiana to get their first win. Or at least play a competitive game. Indiana isn’t going to go 0-40 and they feel like they are live tonight. Clark had her best game on Saturday and seems to be getting a little more comfortable. Indiana’s defense is still lousy like last season, but they have the talent to win high scoring games once they start to gel. Maybe that begins tonight. GL

I have been getting good closing line value on most of these bets that I place a day early. Storm already moved a point or point and a half in my favor. More important, these bets have been winning. GL

Future

Liberty to win the title (+180), 2*

I don’t like the way the Aces look and I don’t think they are going to win their third title in a row. It’s hard to stay motivated and hungry in pro sports sometimes, particularly when you have had success like that. Aja Wilson is shooting commercials and worried about how stylish she looks. Same with Kelsey Plum. The women have chartered flights now and are making money. They are living the dream, but I think that’s going to take away from them reaching their ultimate goal. Meanwhile, the Liberty brought back their whole team from last year. The most important thing with them is Jonquel Jones. She looks like she did when she was playing with the Sun, after having a down season last year. Sometimes it takes a year to get comfortable in a new environment. If her and Stewart are playing well with Ionescu and Vandersloot in the backcourt, they will be hard to beat.

My five game winning streak came to and end last night. Seattle won, but didn’t cover. Let’s start a new one tonight with the Sun.
