This will also be the first road playoff start of Purdy’s career against Philadelphia's defense, which ranked second in total defense (301.5 yards per game) in the regular season, will be the best Purdy has faced. Counting the postseason, the Eagles have racked up 75 sacks, third most in NFL history. The only two higher outputs came from the mid-1980s Chicago Bears, who had a record 82 in 1984 and 80 in 1985. Well lets look at the Philadelphia Eagles Defense>> linebacker Haason Reddick (16 sacks), defensive ends Brandon Graham (11) and Josh Sweat (11) and defensive tackle Javon Hargrave (11) all established career highs for sacks. The defense also includes tackle Fletcher Cox (seven sacks) and safety C.J. Johnson-Gardner, who tied for the league lead with six interceptions. Also part of the equation is the raucous Philadelphia crowd, which will provide noise. LOL!!!!!! Defense wins games and SF is not part of the equation. Philadelphia Eagles wins this match-up outright !!!

It's a vague question but interesting

Def vs pass
Def vs run
short / long pass / run
Def on 3rd down
Def vs top 10 Off
Def turnovers

. From Weeks 14 through the Divisional Round, Philadelphia allowed 128.5 rush ypg and 4.8 yards per carry. Kyle Shanahan is better than anyone at creating explosive runs with Christian McCaffrey and Elijah Mitchell each capable of big games.

, the interior and right side of the 49ers’ offensive line can be attacked. Considering Philadelphia set an NFL single-season record with four players recording double-digit sacks, it could find success pressuring Purdy and forcing him into bad decisions.

If you’re asking for comparison on it via teams it’s a bit subjective. And I wouldn’t rely on stats to answer either. Just way too many variables. So many garbage time yards or prevent defenses or offense turnovers inside own half or punt returns that affect where the defense lines up and how they may play etc. This stuff skews stats a bit

Asking who is better vs the Run brings in what kind of run? Zone read? RPO? Gap? Man?. It’s almost like going down a rabbit hole. Football is simple if you know the basics. But the lingo and system sounds like a foreign language. Put a Chinese math student at Harvard in a football room with a dry erase board and watch their head explode lol.

Anyway imo you really just gotta eye test and look at personnel. Form your opinion off that

End of the day this is two really good defense.

Secondary advantages Eagles
Linebacker advantages Niners
DL advantages Push

QB advantages Eagles
RB advantages Niners Slightly
WRTE Niners Slightly
OL Eagles Slightly

Coaching Niners Slightly

Any stats on defense that stops 3rd downs
And how often they win

That's an important x factor

I'm trying something new here..........have no idea if it relevant, works, doesn't work or what. Let's call it "performance against the spread". Not week to week but overall for the whole year.

San Fran total yearly point spread -105
pts scd 510
pts alld 312
total +198
minus spread 105
PATS +93

Phil total yearly point spread -126.5
pts scd 515
pts alld 351
total +164
minus spread 126.6
PATS +37.5
