First, if you have to buy the hook to get +6 on the Steelers...after what we witnessed today, I really believe it's worth doing...But the books I spoke with all seem to agree, that the concensus should definately get there...if not higher even when news breaks that Ben is probable Tonight in Jacksonville...
Tonight, we get a chance to grab Pittsburgh +6 points who I believe may very well be the better team in this game...For starters they come in with the better record at 3-1, while the Jags sit at 2-2...Now, I know that a record don't give us a true representation all the time...but in this case, backing that claim up is LVSC who last week had Pittsburgh rated higher than J'Ville...but this week has the Jags 140.9 and Pitt at 140.4...So you can see just how close the oddsmakers feel that these 2 teams are...
That in itself more times than not will justtify me backing a 6pt dog immediately...but looking at these 2 teams coming in, I really think we have an even bigger advantage based on "Public Perception"...because if you remember...they won ugly vs Cleveland on SNF and burned the bettors backing the Fav that night...Then, on National TV once again, they came very close to losing to a rookie QB led Ravens team...in their own house...
Now we can go deeper and look at many of the stats that favor the Steelers in this match-up as well...such as a better YPPT on Offense, and they allow only 4.8 yrds per pass att, while the Ravens allow "7.6" and 66% completions to opposing QB's...
But once again, I don't want to waste your time with numbers you can look up for free in a couple of minutes on the web...Instead, let's take a deeper look into the main reasoning...and that is Pricing, because after all...this is a market and the key is still the same...Buy when there's Value...
So if we take a look at when Pittsburgh came into J'Ville last year in September...what we find is that the Steelers were installed as "-3" FAVS...and Tonight, we are getting "6"...
There is also a lot of motivation for this Pittsburgh team...They have a chance for redemption after being beat BOTH times last year, and knocked out of the Playoffs at home on top of it...And I am sure that after all the talk Pittsburgh heard for the way they played Monday Night on "Prime-Time"...they were extremely focused all week knowing the opportunity will be there once again to silence the critics...especially since they come into the game "3-1"...
