Don’t let last weekend’s 27-20 final score for the Jets deceive you. Only six of New York’s 27 points came from the offense, as they sprinkled in two special teams' touchdowns (12 points) and a nine-point effort from Nick Folk. The Jets have not magically turned the corner and are now producing at a huge rate offensively. Once again, I say all of this because I do not anticipate them pulling their weight in getting this final score over the total.

On the flip side, Coach Mike Vrabel leads a run-heavy team as well. New England is seventh in rushing play percentage (47.2%). Being that it’s a short week and they have a young quarterback; I can easily see the Pats once again leaning into the rushing attack heavily. New England could go off for a few explosive plays, but I don’t expect them to go nuclear offensively in this one. As I mentioned above, I can see this one landing in the 24-10 range and finishing comfortably under the number. The Patriots have been rolling lately, off a big road win over the Bucs 28-23, and they have been beating up on bad teams all year too. The Patriots are going to be motivated for a division rival, especially since they have a chance to earn the number 1 seed now. Money Line -$800 X 5 with a press[ yes I known it's a big bet laying money; however, Jets have no chance in New England to win this matchup. I would bet money rather lay -12 1/2 //// Jets might lose but cover the big spread?

While the Jets on the spread is more of a true lean than a best bet, I will be pulling the trigger on the Over on Thursday night. Many likely associate the Jets' game with boredom and low scores, Patriots are on a nice Over run of their own, with it hitting in four straight games. New England’s offense is red hot, scoring 28 or more points in three of its last four games, while quarterback Drake Maye surprisingly sits atop the MVP futures odds board.
It’s not hard to make a case for the Patriots offense to go off in front of the home fans but expect the Jets to have some openings as well. New England’s red-zone defense has been awful. It ranks dead last in opponent red-zone touchdown conversion percentage, and the Pats have allowed the third-most pass plays of 20 or more yards.

NE vs jets. L 10 meetings

SU. NE 8-2
ATS. Jets 7-3

NE wins, but by how much is the question. Trading key players for draft picks, sends a counterproductive message.

Mike Vrabel is Head Coach. Josh McDaniels is Offensive Coordinator, Terrell Williams is Defensive Coordinator, and Jeremy Springer is Special Teams Coordinator. Woody even gets better

The Jets, conversely, are struggling, particularly with their passing game which ranks last in the league. While running back Breece Hall provides a solid ground threat, the Patriots' top-ranked run defense is well-equipped to mitigate this strength, forcing the Jets into a one-dimensional, weak passing attack. The Patriots, under new head coach Mike Vrabel, are having a strong season, excelling in both offense and defense. Second-year quarterback Drake Maye is performing at a high level and the team is currently on a seven-game winning streak. They are especially formidable at home, where they have won 13 of their last 14 games against the Jets. The likely outcome for the 2025 season is a pair of Patriots victories, reinforcing their dominant position in the AFC East. Oddsmakers have the Patriots as significant favorites, with some expert high stake gamblers [whales] predicting Patriots 27-10, 28-14. 24-10.

Our old friend GAME1000 used to have a "Paycheck" play on this matchup between NE and NYJ. I cannot remember it but maybe one among us can recall what it was?
Regardless, GL to all and thank you Harru.

Yes, the "Paycheck" plays you're referring to was part of the interactive game Spent, which simulates living paycheck to paycheck with only $1,000.
The game Spent—created by McKinney for Urban Ministries of Durham—is designed to help players understand the financial challenges faced by people living on minimum wage after a period of unemployment. Here's how the "Paycheck" scenario works:
🕹️ Overview of the "Paycheck" Play in Spent
• Starting Point: You're unemployed, have lost your home, and have just $1,000 in savings.
• Goal: Survive 30 days without running out of money.
• Gameplay:
• You choose a job (e.g., office temp, warehouse worker).
• You make daily decisions about housing, food, transportation, healthcare, and emergencies.
• Each choice affects your budget and well-being.
• Educational Purpose: It builds empathy and financial literacy by showing how difficult it is to make ends meet when every dollar counts.
This "Paycheck" scenario is often used in classrooms and workshops to spark discussion about poverty, budgeting, and economic inequality. It’s not part of a game called “GAME1000” per se, but the $1,000 starting point is a central mechanic in Spent.
If you were thinking of a different game or platform called "GAME1000,"

I guess if you bet the ML at -800 in a straight bet if you win what have you really won? If you lose though you lose a shit ton. IMO these types of bets are only good if you bet like all or half your bankroll. If you are betting -800 you should be very sure it wins so if that is the case anything less than 1/2 your bankroll seems silly. Of course you better get it right. Thats why it has to be a very rare bet but very bigI think they win and probably cover but no way ML for me
