Committee has a criteria. The reason why uga and osu are lower is due to conference championships. That is one criteria the committee uses
it’s really not that hard. The committee got it right. People don’t want to hear it, but it’s true. Florida state played a weak schedule, no fault of their own, and went undefeated. Every other metric pointed toward other teams being better.
the reason they landed at 5, is because the eye test only trumps so much. Had Georgia or osu won a conference championship, they would both be ranked above fsu. Like Alabama and Texas. Oregon too would have been ranked higher as a 1 loss team.
the only fault the committee made in all this was putting fsu 4 to begin with. They should have been ranked 5 the entire time. Oregon should have been the 4 seed going into the weekend
as soon as Texas was ranked 3rd I knew Alabama would be 4. FSU was getting in at 3 or nothing. Once Texas was in at 3, you knew then that the committee wasn’t going to follow the undefeated above 1 loss teams, which again they shouldn’t had
