So OUR society is the problem?
And the ills that affect our society are unique to the rest of the planet??
It doesn’t hold water.
If we didn’t have high capacity mags at least they’d have to take time to reload. Do you know how many children were saved in Sandy hook because the shooter had to reload?
“The shooter at Sandy Hook Elementary School had an assault weapon and ten 30-round magazines in his possession. In 4 minutes, he shot 154 bullets, killing 20 children and 6 adults. When he had to pause to reload, 11 children were able to escape.”
I have a GLK with a 50 round drum. So what’s your point? Is it the style of gun that kills you are worried about? The caliber of bullet? The magazine capacity?
Is a death not a death? Is one kid killed in school not enough? Are you worried about kids being killed by guns or are you worried about kids in a school being killed but only if it’s like 5+ and done with a AR 3 times the past 22 years? If this is about kids then what’s the solution to the other 99% of kids dying at the hand of guns that are not AR style weapons? Are you concerned about those just as much? Or is school a safe place but the playground or streets or parks or restaurants or homes just oh well that’s different. Are we equally as mad if it’s 1 kid dead via gun in a school vs 10? When 3,5,6,7 die in a school shooting by a gun Not and AR do we have the same outrage? If no then why not?
So school shootings are documented all way back to 1764. Which I find insane and I’m sure we are dealing with different variables. So are we trying to prevent school shootings or prevent the amount of deaths per shooting? Below is a list of some examples. We have AR used and not used. In 22 years we have 4 substantial shootings at schools 5 if you want to count a college. So basically 4 events in 22 years. In a country of 330 million with guns everywhere.
Let’s say this data is somewhat accurate
We average 22 gun shot victims per day 5-17
On average 5 die a day 5-17
So almost 2000 kids a year die by gun
Let’s be super fair and say only 10% is murder
That’s 200 dead
That’s 120 more in 1 year than the 4 school shootings over 22 years we are hyper focused on. One of which didn’t involve an AR.
So are we sure the political minds of the world need to keep making this left vs right gun wars and always singling out the AR weapon. Or is there something else that’s the bigger problem? Do kids deaths matter more in schools? Is it the type of gun used that matters more? Is it kids deaths in general via gun? Is it any school or just schools where an AR is used 3 times out of past 22 years?
1999 columbine 15+ dead
2007 VT 15+ dead
2012 Sandy 15+ dead
2017 Parkland 15+ dead
2022 Uvalde 15+ dead
1764 Pennsylvania 11 dead
1889 West Virginia 6 dead
California
1940 6+ dead
1976 6+ dead
1989 6+ Dead
2012 6+ dead
2013 6+ dead
Not singling California out, just one of the better data states with multiple incidents different variables same results
