yea miked that is one great LP. that started the whole hip hop war between queensbridge and the bronx. whats funny to me is nas said his favorite rapper growing up was MC SHAN. lol. it is hard just to get an MP3 of shan's "the bridge" (it is kinda neat to listen to, been sampled many times actually but the song is lame) but its no problem to get KRS's "the bridge is over"

There's always next year, like in 75, 90-93, 99 &

wow i never got to hear that 1-8. knowledge god, that is one sick beat. that whole cuban album is the real mafiaso sound, all the samples they used for the skits from italian crime movies and then that was when they all made 2nd nicknames for themselves, an then everyone copied them for doing that. that was when the RZA was really on top of his beats. i liked verbal assasin best from that album naturally, just that chics voice being looped over and over "ohhh i love him" or whatever she is saying sounds like it is from an old kung fu movie or something.

yes! gravediggaz man i loved that damn album, they were the first "horrorcore" rap group. I knew a girl that listened to that song 1-800-suicide over and over and slit her wrists in a bath tub listening to it. she was 16 and her 24 year ol BF abonded her when he heard she was pregnant. (she lived, but has some sizey scars too show for it) . . .and odogg you are correct it was verbal intercourse.

You guys are sending back in time tonight. Here are some of my favorites that I've haven't seen mentioned.

Mos Def "Black on Both Sides"
-- so many other singles, compilations and guest appearences that never made it out of the NYC.

Common "Like Water for Chocolate"
