Looks like we are starting a new Winter game in early FEB 2022. Similar rules to this game(with some minor changes), but a $100 to $150 buy in. 3 players tentatively confirmed including myself. Possibly looking for 1 more player. . You would need a P Pal address to settle up. If anyone is interested send me a PM. Michelangelo I am looking for you. LOL. Good night.

Hi, Jack. I'd love to play if we could rewrite the rules to something that resembles what an at the track bettor would do.

I'd give up exactas if we could do this:

- Win and/or place betting only
- Max bankroll of $500.00 / day (certainly not necessary to use that complete daily bankroll)
- Max bet of $100.00 (win and place could be $200.00)
- No cap (full track returns)
- $5000.00 total bankroll
- Not sure about duration of the contest. Does two months sound about right?
- We can agree on the tracks to be used

I don't care who wants to play. And I don't catre about the stake but I think if it gets too big the contest friendliness might be compromised. I wouldn't want that. But it has to be significant enough to maintain interest.

We should send our entry fee to someone to hold - I'd trust you Jack. (Sucks when an asshole like BHP makes this step prudent).

Those are the thoughts that come to my mind.

Hope that format would interest you guys.

OK Michel your ideas are noted. I do not see the need though to raise the stakes that much for this kind of contest. However I am willing to go as high as $12 for a max bet. so $2 would be the min and $12 the Max. We can get rid of the mandatory place as I know you do not use that much. I am also willing to do away with the cap. Just so you know I am raising the cap this game, but willing to erase it if you join. If we would raise the stakes to $12 max a win and or place we could do a 3K roll and give it about 10 weeks to complete.

As for me holding the coins I think Mel, Mr. G&T, and I have proven we are good for the coins. And I know it's just over the internet but I trust that you will be good for them as well. If we go 4 deep and $150 a man that's $450 to the winner. so not a bad payday. Think it over Michel.

Mel and Mr. G&T feel free to chime in with any ideas.

Tentative start date is 2/3/2022 and last day to play would be 4/17/2022. If we go the 3K route WED thru SUN Posting and I have proposed to Mr. G&T and Mel that we open it up to any N. American T-Bred track.

I like keeping these contests small stakes. But like I said willing to marginally increase it if you would join. Hit me back Michel. THX

also if you Michel do not think you will play place much we can lower the roll to $2500. that would come down to 20 plays a week at $12 a play for the win. Of we can extend the game a bit to end of April and go to $2750 or 3K.

Game commences 2/3/2022 and everyone has until 4/24/2022 to finish the $2750 roll

If you play both win, and place you do not need to have same amount on both.

No Payout Cap
We all grade our own action, and I will run the tally. Just need a risk/return number each day you play.

Multiple players can play same horse.
All Plays posted in this thread
Post in real time or advance
We are each Putting up $150 payable to the winner at the conclusion.
If a player posts a horse without a wager default is $2 w/p
Player with most $$ returned is the victor
Once a play is posted no changing it out for any reason
In case a name and number of a horse do not match the name takes precedent.

Above gentlemen is my Proposal for the Winter game 2022. So I made some adjustments to fit Michel's ideas. Read it over and hit me back when you get a chance. If you give this game a spin Michel and you really want to raise the stakes next time we can discuss again. I took out the Cap, raised the max Increment, and took out the mandatory place wager to better fit your requests. Hopefully we can all agree to proceed under these guidelines or somewhat similar ones.
If anyone has an issue please let me know. As for the payout at the end I prefer to do the honor system as I strongly believe we are all dependable here. I would hate to hold the coins and something happen like I got hit by a bus or something like that. LOL.

And I realize Michel a $12 Max bet for the win is not close to your $100 proposal. But it really is a matter of conjecture I guess. Lower roll and lower stakes. And this way we do not have a cap on daily plays. Anyway hit me back. THX.

Looks good to me; only thing is if we can conclude on Kentucky Derby day; I think it will be more fun.

OK Mr. G&T we can do that. Maybe move back the start a week to 2/10/22 and conclude on 5/8/2022. Maybe we can also raise the roll to 3K and keep it commencing 2/3/2022. will check back next month. thx for the input.

OK Gentlemen we have a new shooter willing to take us on. YES YES is right now a GO. I will send him a message along with Mel and Mr. G&T late JANUARY to lay out the guidelines and confirm we all can play. so that's 4 tentative players and 1 possible in Michel. This Winter game will be interesting for sure.

Hi Jack, Appreciate you coming towards a more at the track betting model. I'm still hung up on not being able to lay in to a horse where I think its appropriate.

I have already sent a friend of mine to the track to bet $200.00 on a horse in the first race at Gulfstream. (I'll be going up to the track in the next hour or two when I get my jobs done.) I think that his chances of winning are very, very, very strong. That is a rare sized bet for me. But I'm expecting him to be in the 1-1 neighborhood. He may be 3/5. I will still bet him. I need to lay in to him whereas most of the other horses I bet have a much lesser chance of winning. I adjust my bet downward for them. Downward being my base bet of $12.00. Some will be $16.00. Some $24.00. Some $36.00 Some $48.00. All depends on what I determine their odds of winning when compared to their board odds.

I asked for a max bet of $100.00. Maybe after reading this explanation you could compromise with me at $48.00. I'd even settle for $36.00 if I have to. But I need something that is at least three or four times my base bet so that I can scale my probability of winning to the bet.

THanks. If you allow me this, I'm in. Would love to join in with the fun. You're a good bunch of guys.

PS The horse is the #8 in the 1st race at Gulfstream, Mogalu.

Root me home. Don't want to start the day $200.00 in the hole. Thanks.

Good luck with Mogalu, Mich. Looks like you may get some value as the early money is all over the Pletcher first-timer.

I have a suggestion for the contest. Since your base bet is $12 (let's call it $10 to use round numbers). A big bet for you is $200, so 20x your base unit. Our base unit here is $2, so 20x is $40. We could make that the max wager. The only caveat I would want is to have a cap (maybe $300) to keep someone from simply firing away with max bets on double digit shots if they fall behind.

Makes sense, Niko. I'd settle for that. But I don't quite understand the $300.00 cap. For a payoff? For the day's bankroll? Don't quite understand.

PS I can assure you that I will never be firing away. I stay within my betting style. It's been developed over a long time. I'm not about to make a mockery out of the contest just to try to win. Not me.

The cap is for a payoff. Without it, a single race or two can pretty much end the contest. I'm not married to it, though. Whatever the group decides is fine by me.
