Matthew 19:24 - And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

Isaiah 61:1 - The Spirit of the Lord GOD [is] upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to [them that are] bound.

Deuteronomy 15:11 - For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.

Mark 10:21 - Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

Luke 6:20-26 - And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed [be ye] poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.

Can you point us to the part where Jesus talks about being forced to pay a portion of you income to a $3.3 trillion dollar federal leviathan who then decides how to "help" the poor?

Thanks in advance!

What do you do for people who can't or won't do for themselves? Let's say you cut off all the programs you rail against. What do you think will happen then? Guess where they are coming to get their stuff......your house.

You're lumping people who can't help themselves into the same category with people who don't feel the need to because they know others will in exchange for nothing. Big difference.

If we cut off the safety net, I think a lot of people who call themselves disabled would suddenly discover how enabled they have been all along. Not 100%, but many. Some people really are incapable of taking care of themselves. Others just think they are...or were taught to think like that by a particular political party who needs that in order to stay in business.

These safety nets are necessary for a civilized society. The people who just scam the system and live off welfare.....have pretty horrible lives and most of the don't even know it. I'm good with my life and really don't care what they do but I recognize it is a necessity in our society. The ones that live off govt by scamming the system...whatever.....have a blast with a miserable life because that's really what it is.

Once again you don't have a fucking clue what's actually going on. Stick with the freebies from your wife's family restaurant......let the rest of us handle actual issues. Stay in your bubble idiot.

Not if liberals gave those people their money.

Look at what you're saying here. "What do you do for people who can't or won't do for themselves?" If they can't work, they can't get anything from my house. If they can but won't, they're practicing extortion.

These safety nets are the antithesis of a civilized society, that is what cavemen did. Caveman A would see Caveman B with something Caveman A wants. Caveman A then morally justifies to himself why he is more deserving than Caveman B, so Caveman A hits Caveman B with his club and takes Caveman B's property.

You're joking right? Caveman A and B.......you do realize that example is completely idiotic and is not comparable to anything currently happening.

Evangelicals everywhere across America: "We've had a collective epiphany. We now realize that Jesus was a socialist. He railed against the rich and told them to give money to help the poor. Due to this, we will now switch our political allegiance to Bernie Sanders, and will do anything to get him elected."

Bernie Sanders supporters: "Hold it right there you fairy tale believing nut jobs! We have a thing in this country called a Separation of Church and State! You can't force socialism down the throats of others just because your book of myths supports it!"

That is what currently happens. It might not be cavemen with clubs, but the redistribution of wealth is done via moral justifications and threats of violence, hardly the hallmark of a civilized society.

The only thing the government ads to the equation is a legal use of violence.

1. That's your opinion. Civilized societies have existed without safety nets.

2. It isn't up to you (or any individual) to determine how other people's money should be spent to care for those who can't care for themselves. I think some people need care since they can't do so for themselves, but that's simply my opinion. There is no obligation on anyone's end to bear the burden. Why am I (or any other individual) automatically indebted to someone who may be less fortunate? If I want to help, that's up to me. But charitable acts can't be forced...or they're not charity anymore.

--You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

---“And He answered and said to them, ‘Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning “made them male and female,” and said, “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh”?'

--“For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”

--“Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.”

What a liberal!!!
