Ricky was awesome in his prime in left!

Okay he is the only questionable guy on my list...Remember Ricky was a great fielder at one time ....

True left fielder, name one better, and please don`t say Yaz...

JMAN-
You have to be joking.

Ricky had absolutely NO arm, lazy, dropped fly balls....etc., etc.!!

Ricky better defensively than YAZ???

I am speechless.

When it comes to pitching no one was ever better than Jim Kaat. Jim won 16 straight Gold Glove awards with 3 differnt teams (13 with the Twins). Greg Maddux is a close 2nd. Mike Mussina is also very good.

No I am not joking....NO player stopped more doubles into the corner, maybe Brady Anderson who was also a great left fielder....Anyone can name 6 'outfielders' you can name 10 CF`s Blair , Griffey, White, not many left fielders stand out, and when you talk about GG LF`s its not so much about arm, its more about stopping the double down the line. Henderson played on one of , if not the best defensive outfield ever! I know he had years where he had the most assists as well...Yaz was the master of the monster, that is a whole different story...

Rickey Henderson is the best LF of all time, what are you thinking of, the 42 year old Ricky lol, you got to be kidding me!?

YAZ WAS AWESOME!!!

PLAYING THE WALL............CHARGING GRONDBALLS(he came up as a shortstop).........throwing arm............and Yaz was NOT slow.

Ricky better than YAZ defensively??..........that is not right.

Not to mention YAZ'S smarts, placement and instints were 10-1 over Ricky.

In fact, Yaz was better defensively at 36-37 years of age, then Ricky was in any one of his.

Not many leftfielders get any attention for their fielding. As far as Gold Gloves go, Ricky never won any. Notable leftfielders are Joe Rudi, and Carl Yastremski, even Barry Bonds (in his younger days) is better than Ricky

Fish, I know Yaz is your guy, but the rumor I heard years ago is that Yaz is gay, not saying I believe it, you ever hear that one? Any truth to that? Not that there is anything wrong with that...I am being serious Fish.

YAZ WON SEVEN GOLD GLOVES AS A LEFTFIEDER, MORE THAN TWICE AS MANY AS ANY OTHER LEFTFIELDER IN AMERICAN LEAGUE HISTORY

And it isn't just the fans that hold this view; it's the view that is officially condoned by Major League Baseball. The decision years ago to allow Gold Gloves for outfield play to be handed out to any three outfielders, regardless of position, has resulted in left fielders being virtually ignored for their defensive contributions. Year after year, three center fielders are awarded, with an occasional strong-armed right fielder thrown in. In the forty-five seasons that Gold Gloves have been awarded, 135 have been given to American Leaguers. Just 19of those went to left fielders, and never more than one in any year. Of those, 15 are accounted for by just four men --------- Carl Yastrzemski (7),.............. Minnie Minoso (3), Joe Rudi (3) and Dave Winfield (2).
