Great to watch the Bushies defend King George as the more and more Americans are waking up and realizing Bush has made a major military blunder in Iraq:

Poll: Sending troops to Iraq a mistake
By Susan Page, USA TODAY
WASHINGTON — Most Americans now say that sending U.S. troops to Iraq was a mistake, a USA TODAY/CNN/Gallup Poll finds. For the first time, a majority also says that the war there has made the nation less safe from terrorism.
The survey taken Monday through Wednesday shows a turnaround in views toward the war in less than a month. Continued violence in Iraq and questions about the war's justification apparently are eroding support even as the U.S. moves to turn over sovereignty to an interim Iraqi government next week.

It is the first time since Vietnam that a majority of Americans has called a major deployment of U.S. forces a mistake.

Can't we ALL just get along?!!

[sarcasm]A CNN poll? This has to be the first time in the history of CNN that they have produced numbers that go against the Bush administration.[/sarcasm]

:WTF:

doc I thought you could do better than this. Why not a 4 MORE YEARS! post from you or "Thank God this country is run by the competent Bush administration instead of Scary Kerry...considering Scary Kerry lost by 3.5 million votes!" You want to talk about majority? The MAJORITY of AMERICANS put Bush in for a 2nd term. ;)

The majority of Americans apparently are weird Jesus Freaks or vengeful rednecks who'd rather see someone get their ass kicked then wonder why the rich get richer and the poor (them) get poorer. Near 2 million votes from areas highly populated by blacks were thrown about because of faulty balloting equipment, equipment that the ACLU sued several states for BEFORE the election, but to no avail. It was a fraudulent victory, just like his first term. I wonder about anyone who can listen to Bush speak for more than 10 minutes and not realize what a moronic puppet he is. But hey, don't get me started on politics, I'll stick to handicapping football, lol.

The vast majority of Bushies are not exactly Rhode Scholars ... they bought all of Roves crap about Bush and his Moral beliefs ... they bought the propaganda from Cheney how not supporting this war is considered being a Traitor to this country ...

Bush is disgusting ... to see him in Church and holding a bible is enough to make me puke ... he is completely out of touch with reality in the Middle East and his refusal to take advice from folks like Powell on how to run this war has our kids in the middle of a hellhole with a lot more unecessary deaths to follow ...

I am a disgusted American .. and totally flabergasted at folks who take pride in what is going on in Iraq ... this war has ACCOMPLISHED NOTHING and I feel bad for the families who have had to bury kids ... and that feeling is obviously nothing that concerns Bush as his "sympathy" for the deaths of American soldiers is as phony as his belief in the Bible

"I have yet to see anyone explain to me why fighting for the freedom of Iraq or this war is a good idea."

Freedom isn't free......those three words only really apply to Americans for the most part.....other places in the world cry when it looks like communism is just across the border and leaning towards them....big brother USA steps in to take over the war and the fight....

Just another fine useless war added to the likes of Vietnam, Korea, and a skirmish in Somalia that dropped a flock of blackhawks that should have never even been in that country to begin with. As usual freedom is free for some other country and the US taxpayer takes the financial a$$-packing.

Some radicals profess to stop the terrorists before they bring a suitcase nuke into the country.....not only are they not going after the real terrorists, like OBL, (if they even can guess as to which side of the planet he's on) but they are creating generations of thousands more terrorists to come.

Could fully expect to see a war on terror turn to a war on suitcases anytime soon....sell your stock in Samsonite, and remember boys and girls, "Freedom isn't free".......cynically LMFAO!

There's a good chance that your real Iraq losses will not show up for 5 to 10 years.
This guy was in charge of reporting on depleted Uranium.

----------------------------------

Doug Rokke, a former US army colonel who served in Vietnam, was sent to the Gulf in 1991 to advise on cleaning up radioactive debris. He says almost every member of the team of 30 experts he took with him is now seriously ill, and three have died of lung cancer.

---------------------------------------------------------

One UK Gulf veteran is Ray Bristow, a former marathon runner.

In 1999 he told the BBC: "I gradually noticed that every time I went out for a run my distance got shorter and shorter, my recovery time longer and longer. Now, on my good days, I get around quite adequately with a walking stick, so long as it's short distances. Any further, and I need to be pushed in a wheelchair." Ray Bristow was tested - in Canada - for DU. He is open-minded about the role of DU in his condition. But he says: "I remained in Saudi Arabia throughout the war. I never once went into Iraq or Kuwait, where these munitions were used. But the tests showed, in layman's terms, that I have been exposed to over 100 times an individual's safe annual exposure to depleted uranium."

While not perfect and despite the fact that U.S. CNN tip toes around the bush admin. so as to not ruffle feathers, they are certainly preferable to the repub network...er I mean Fox.

This war is all about oil and terrorism - and nothing else.

Bush is making sure that the US has a strong presence in the middle east to protect our vital interests in the oil pipeline.

He's also making sure that he does everything he can to minimize terrorism and the governements that export it. What better way than to bring democracy and it's benefits to the region.

Religious fundementalism and tolerance aren't mutually exclusive when looked at from a Nationalist point of view. Let's see what happens in the upcoming Iraqi elections before condemning the process.

No matter what happens, and no matter which party is in power, the US will maintain a strong military presence in the Middle East as long as it has an economic dependancy on that Middle Eastern oil.
