vikings and packers should be playing to lose sunday night.

winner gets seahawks and cardinals.

loser gets washington and carolina.

do these guys even care about a division title ?? maybe vikings will actually play harder as their fan base might actually be content with beating GB finally and claiming some hardware.

will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Winner gets a home game 1st round....Loser is a wild card and goes on the road.

You`re theory is no good bro.

Good luck!

which is better

at Washington
host Seattle
?

I think Minny would much rather have Washington. GB is confident enough (why?) not to care

GB wins

Just to clarify...if Seahawks win and Pack win...then isn't next week Pack host Minny? and Skins host Hawks

So if Hawks win at 4:25, I expect that Pack line to fly.

IMO AT washington is much much better than hosting seattle and a fresh Lynch.......you can even try to figure the lines out....if packers were home to seattle the line would be around 3 at most. Rodgers and team are very comfortable playing on the road. they would be a 3 point favorite at least AT washington

IF seattle wins..big if since Arizona is still trying to catch carolina and they play at the same time.

hypothetically IF seattle wins then yes.....clearly packers are gonna play their asses off at night to play vikings for a 3rd time.

+1

Nfl doesn't do that I hope we lose stuff. You won't ha e a job for long if that's your attitude as a coach or player.

I agree. If SEA is the guaranteed to be the sixth seed (but I don't know what scenario that happens, I am going to r/seahawks (reddit) to ask their fans) than GB and MInn would be better off losing. Not sure if the line would move much since both teams would have incentive to lose. Maybe the division title means more to Minnesota since beating GB is a big metric for them. Whereas, GB fans care less about another division title and probably want the easier road to the playoffs.

Seattle might just rest their players, giving them an extra week before playoffs. They are already in playoffs, and didn't win last week.

Green Bay is banged up... they would be crazy to push anyone out there that is vulnerable.
Washington has no reason to play hard. Nor Seattle. And some others are really not motivated in their hearts 100% for playoff seeds. KC knows Denver will probably win, so why should they go 100% for 60 minutes?
Things like this are not announced up front, but a lot of this will happen today. Hard to know, of course. Players out there not giving 100%, others subtly pulled to save them for the playoffs.
Be careful... and yes, some teams STILL play ALL IN 100%. Coaching, culture, team leadership, it depends. Which teams? Good luck

Good points Serbone. Week 17 is tricky because we try to handicap the collective emotions of a team full of players and staff we don't know personally. It is important to consider (and clearly the book considers it, hence the line in ARI for instance). But it can be overstated. Just because a team needs a win doesn't mean they will win -- this is sometimes lost on betters. Outside of players being rested (and the lines tend to account for that) there is only so much one can rely on it. I am against NYJ this week, but for KC so I am on both sides of the "motivation" game.
