You Might Be A Republican If...

  • ...you believe Bush’s tax cuts, a larger government, spending billions of dollars in wars and nation building have nothing to do with the deficit
  • ...you believe that lying about sex is impeachable, but it is a fine thing to lie about the reasons American boys and girls are dying and being dismembered in an illegal war
  • ...you believe spending money to build schools in America is a waste, but you support spending money to build schools in Iraq and Afghanistan
  • ...you believe spending $40 billion a year for the Department of Education is too much, but spending $87 billion to rebuild the country we just spent billions of dollars bombing is good foreign policy
  • ...you believe it’s patriotic and supportive of the military that Bush loves sending our troops into wars, and simultaneously cuts veteran’s benefits, military hazard pay and military family services.
  • ...you believe raising the minimum wage to give more money to the working poor will cause inflation, but giving billions of dollars to the richest 5% of Americans will boost the economy
  • ...you support the rights of a fetus, but if a baby is born to a poor person, you don’t believe the mother or the baby has the right to food, shelter or financial support
  • ...you call anyone with opinions to the left of George W. Bush a "communist"
  • ...you call yourself a “patriotic American,” but yet you display confederate flags to honor the people who rebelled against the USA
  • ...you believe it's perfectly fine to send American jobs overseas for cheaper labor costs where children work for pennies a day in hellish conditions
  • ...you believe everyone who isn’t a Protestant Christian is going to Hell
  • ...you believe homosexuals should be tortured to death just for being homosexuals
  • ...you believe we deserved to be attacked on 9/11 because we have homosexuals, feminists and liberals in this country
  • ...you believe that liberals are a threat to humanity, but breathing dirty air, drinking dirty water, the polar ice caps melting and other ecological problems are good for you and good for business
  • ...you believe that AIDS is divine punishment for sinfulness, even when babies are born with it
  • ...you believe that people without scientific training are qualified to determine the content of biology texts
  • ...you believe that federal welfare weakens people, but corporate welfare strengthens business
  • ...you believe that global temperatures are affected by cyclical, documented changes in the earth's climate that occur in cycles exceeding 10,000 years, even though you don't believe that the earth is that old
  • ...you believe that while you could never be homosexual yourself, other heterosexuals could easily be converted to homosexuality just by being in the presence of a homosexual

...you believe that state courts can't be trusted to punish businesses or examine ballots fairly, but you believe they can be trusted to administer the death penalty fairly
  • ...you believe that power wielded by business is good but power wielded by government or the people is dangerous
  • ...you believe that environmentalists don't care about nature, but mining interests, power companies and major polluters do
  • ...you believe that youths won't have sex if they're never taught about birth control
  • ...you believe that the ACLU is bad, because it supports certain parts of the Constitution, while the NRA is good, because it supports certain parts of the Constitution
  • ...you believe that inheritance doesn't breed the same type of slothfulness that other forms of entitlement do
  • ...you believe that communism was not a viable system while simultaneously believing that only the "genius" of Ronald Reagan was able to defeat it
  • ...you believe that all Americans compete on a level playing field
  • ...you believe that Ken Starr is really a gentleman
  • ...you believe that there is some magical quality about unregulated markets that cause businesses to operate in the public's best interests
  • ...you believe that Republicans that sell missiles to our enemies deserve to be on Mt. Rushmore
  • ...you believe that not examining ballots and appealing to judges is the best way to determine the outcome of an election
  • ...you believe in state-sponsored public prayer in schools, as long as the children aren’t praying to any gods other than your god
  • ...you believe that you love Jesus Christ, and that Jesus Christ loves you, and that Jesus Christ shares your hatred of liberals, the ACLU, feminists, environmentalists, AIDS victims, homosexuals, President Clinton, Hillary Clinton and the poor on welfare
  • ...you believe that socialism hasn't worked anywhere, and that Europe doesn't exist or is irrelevant
  • ...you believe that biology teachers are corrupting the morals of sixth-graders when they teach them the basics of human sexuality, but the Holy Bible, which is filled with sex and violence, is good reading for all children

I don't even consider myself super conservative, because most of it is common sense. I debunked most of doc moron's facts in his other thread about Bush with a few sentences.

Sherlock,
If they are facts, then how exactly did you debunk them?

You are a fine kneel-bob-and-repeater -- someday you will make a fine WH reporter ...

The overwhelming majority of poltical science professors are liberals, while the overwhelming majority of economic professors are conservatives. That should give you some insight on which side is the "right" one. Economists believe the best way to govern economically is the Republican way while the political science professors worry too much about image and lying so they choose the liberal way.

I was once liberal, as I think we all were. There is a saying that "Anyone under 20 who isn't a liberal has no heart, and anyone over 20 who is still a liberal has no head." I thought buying T-shirts made in China was horrible, and I thought why not just raise minimum wage so everyone can make a good wage. That stuff doesn't work, as economists have proven. The general public doesn't know that, so shady liberals can convince the public that it is true and gain office.

Sherlock,
If they are facts, then how exactly did you debunk them?

You are a fine kneel-bob-and-repeater -- someday you will make a fine WH reporter ...

I forgot to put "facts" in quotation. Thanks for pointing out a grammatical error.

Actually, my political idealogy switched to conservative after taking my first economics class and learning the truth. I don't listen to Rush Limbaugh or anything like that.

All of his statistics that say anything along the lines of "the worst economic, highest prices, costliest deficit" is not true because it doesn't factor inflation. Bush is not at fault for the recession after the worst terrorist attack.

Even if he were it still wasn't the worst recession. Idiots claim that it was worse than the Great Depression. No it wasn't you moron because you didn't factor in inflation and size of the GDP. We lost more dollars in this recession, but relatively it's nothing compared to the Great Depression. It's not even Bush's fault, the president CANNOT cause a recession or massive losses in our type of economy. The tech bubble, the corporate scandals, and the attack on 9/11 was the cause of the recession. Stop blaming Bush for things out of his control.

I proved with HARD FACTS that gas prices aren't the highest ever.

The deficit is not the largest deficit ever. Stop spewing this garbage. Search for "largest deficit adjusted for inflation" and you will see it's not this one. Btw, do you even know what a deficit means, and the economic impact of one?

You have to understand economics to interpret the financial data. Most of what you see is either not true, not relative or misconstrued.

As I said in the other post, you and the Michael Moores are the reason Bush was reelected. Nobody believes your garbage and you piss people off so much they come running back to Bush.

Debate me with facts. Tell me what is wrong with what I said? You can't. All your arguments and points are fallacies. If all of what you said was true then there is no way Bush would have been reelected by a larger margin than he was elected in '00.

If Bush was able to get reelected after the Iraq war, and the recession then Democrats have little chance of winning an election for at least 20 years.

Rather than say something intelligent you call me a "Bushie" and nonchalantly dismiss my claims. Well done, moron.

yes doc, i believe that when you put your hand on a
bible and swear to tell the truth, the whole truth,
and nothing but the truth, and then lie to a grand
jury is an impeachable offense.
yes i believe that tax cuts do strengthen an economy
as first evidenced by another womanizer JFK.
yes doc we usually do go in and rebuild
countries that we have reduced to rubble, japan
germany.
yes doc I believe in giving rich americans and corporations
tax cuts since the top 5 percent pay 50 per cent of the
taxes anyway. Never have asked a poor man for a job either
you and the american people demand that we send jobs
overseas, so we can buy finished product cheap
if we didnt we would have to contend with your labor unions
who demand 25.00 per hour plus health care, and then
expect someone making 6.00 per hour to buy the product
yes doc, i am a republican
oh remember doc environmentalists are responsible for
the stopping the new levee system in new orleans under
lyndon baines johnson because it would destroy wetlands
the ballots were independantly examined many times
and alll came to the same conclusion

Karl Rove is the reason Bush is in office ....

hell, you Bushies actually believed Kerry was "weak" on defense (really?? Cheney wanted to cut the SAME weaponry Kerry wanted to cut as Sect of Defv) and also believed Kerry was the most Liberal Senator (wrong again ... Kerry was the 11th Most Liberal Senatotr) ....

Hell, the Bushies believed Rove when he told them Bush was against abortions ... really? How is the 1st appt in term #2 - Gonzales - a man who believes in abortions?

Hell, the Bushies believed Rove when he told them that Bush was against gay unions ... really? name an administration that has seen more gays - Ken Mehlmann, Jeff Gannon, Mary Cheney & Scotty McClellan to name the opening drama

Hell, the Bushies were told their leader was a man of the Bible ... wrong again as this low life is the 1st President to push for a Palestinian state and to rip up the Abrahamic covenant

Bush is as phony as it gets ...

I co-majored in economics and Poly Sci in school, little over 10 years ago. Economics are primarily theoretical, hence "Economic Theory" is how the textbooks are titled.
Nearly all of the renowned economists will tell you Supply side economic theory may work on paper but is nothing but a pipe dream in reality.

This current set of knucklers did inherit some growing problems, and deficit spending can prove to be helpful, BUT..running these massive deficits and tax cutting the richest just doesn't make ANY fukkin sense.
You give the richest more money and they pigeon-hole it or buy worthless luxury goods that really don't stimulate shit.
You run massive deficits and you basically sell out the country to foreign ownership when the notes come due and you can't pay them.
This clan is an abomination to modern conservatism, expanding the scope of the federal gov't well beyond any Democratic led gov't in modern history.

You watch, they have no choice but to raise taxes or what comes easiest--print more money. What the fukk do they care, our children will pay for it.
Inflation will hit hard by the time these clowns get done, and recession looms. Not a damn thing done to combat the very thing that will sink us, the escalating trade deficit. Not a damn thing done to protect American workers against completely unfair competition. Not a damn thing done to curb the travesty of illegal immigration. Sell out of the environment for the sake of profit. Appointing "friends" to high level postitions who couldn't run a goddam car wash and not fukk it up.

In fact, while they are making their oil-barron masters even richer, the majority of us are gonna pay dearly as they continue their coroporate takeover of OUR government.

You tell me that all will be fine when a barrel of oil tops $100 in the next couple of years. You tell me all is fine when, this winter, the northern half of the nation is gonna go in shock when they see their heating bills double. Who the sheot gains from that?? The energy providers....the oil barrons..to whom this administration is proven to be beholden.

Shove that pie in the sky relentless Bush apologism up your piehole, fool. Jackazzes like you are responsible for these creeps taking over our gov't when you threw your votes at em like a whore throws off her panties for a c-note. :finger:

Oh let me remind you of some fantastic wisdom too....."Don't pick your azz unless you need to"

It is weird to watch the number of righties in here who have absolutely no problem with massive overspending, fiscal irresponsibility and the ballooning of the National Debt.

These guys would slag off an Italian Socialist in a heartbeat, but in the case of George Bush, because he SAYS HE'S A REPUBLICAN, he can overspend cash like the dumbest socialist fukk in Europe.
And all these guys are perfectly happy to watch him do it too...
Not one of them really gives a shít, just as long as the badge Bush is wearing says "Republican".

It's not really politics, it's partisanship.
They're conditioned to "hate the left"

If Bush lets in millions upon millions of immigrants while the Democrats want to close the borders they will all still vote for Bush.
If Bush increased welfare by 50% they would still vote for him.

Just as long as the badge he wears says 'Republican' he can do what he likes.

Thought for the day:
...I wonder if the lefties are as dumb as that...

with the line of the day- "Not one of them really gives a shít, just as long as the badge Bush is wearing says "Republican"

The Right reminds me of the movie "The night of the living dead" as they are nothing but a bunch of zombies walking around in a trance mumbling, "GWB is a God .... GWB is a God .."

To be fair though, there are a growing number of extremely dissatisfied "real" conservatives as they know that Shrub has hijacked the Conservative agenda.

I personally have conservative policy preferences, primarily of the fiscal type.
And I respect the arguments proposed by genuine conservatives, as I may agree from issue to issue.

But the point eek makes is the sad state that partisan politics has become. It seems that most republican voters suffer from some kind of mass delusion. (I call them Stepford-crats). Cause they'll fukkin vote republican no matter what (which is just plain stupid when your leader is a traitor to conservatism)

Both parties really are drawing farther away from a "rational" middle ground, making every issue contentious.

These new republican leaders are about as much centrist as I am the Dali Lhama. And that doesn't bode well for the state of this country.
