Crowds are picking up the O8b pot limit was up to 113 players. 33K with 5K going to 1st 18th paying $575.
Much better players than the limit tourny. Had the 06 main event winner at my table to start and a few other decent players as well. Early on i tried to see some cheap flops and get something going post flop but never really got anything going. i stayed short stacked pretty much the entire tourny but short stacked meant 40 big blinds so i just stayed patient and hung in. down to about 30 and i still have not gotten over the starting stack and need to do something . Get moved to a new table where in greeted by 4 huge stacks 1 of whom was a 6'4" 280lb angle shooter with a huge mouth...me and this guy will get along well....He calls the floor every other hand bitching about any little thing while at the same time he takes the rules to the edge at every opportunity...he kept trying to get ppl penalized by acting like he folded then after they acted out of turn calling the floor on them...he did it 2 or 3 times, well i piss everyone off myself cus i never look at my cards until its my turn...This does slow the game down a lil bit but thats how i do it ...So once he manages to get me to fold out of turn and he calls the floor and tells them its my 4th time to do it....The guy next to me tells the floor he's a liar the guy dont even look at his cards and he's slowing up the game as it is....the guy wants me penalized and i come unglued....we were playing up on a little platform and i get up and tell the guy if he mentions me again im putting his ass over the rail...Well he's having none of that and stands up...It doesnt look like im going anywhere in the tourny anyway so i say F it if the only fun i have is busting this fucker in the mouth so be it....The guy next to me, the 1 who didnt like me , grabs me and everythings calmed down. They decide to give us all a 10 minute break and when we come back Mr bigmouth gives no more trouble and actually kind of sat on his chips the rest of the way. We had the chipleader at our table, young hip hop kid about 20 yrs old. He's raising every hand...I can limp then when he raises get allin before the flop....
1 thing i can do is a swing a short stack and from about 24 left till i went out i was all-in over and over again...The table was so tight nobody would get in the pot without AA or at least A2...that means any dbl suited slightly connected hand with 2 low cards is a coin flip at worse against their hands...and flip i did , over and over again they would raise and id shove with say 35JJ dbl suited and crack their big pair, etc everytime...Into the money and i dont let up the only words they here from me is all-in , im the shortest stack in the tourny and im running the whole thing...lol
We get down to 12 players, its 2.45 am. I want to keep playing but everybody else says come back tomorrow...I tell em im not coming back tomorrow with 10 BB's....im all in every hand till the 3am cutoff. At 2.59am he says last hand....I get 381010 dbl suited and after a really tight player raises i try to get all-in PF, this causes a huge row about if i can bet my whole stack or not....eventually they determine i can bet all but 700 chips PF...the flop comes 388 and ,IM all -in!!!!!! he calls and turns over his AA screaming " the sob called me with an 8!!".i say nope...38....Im dead when the next card off the deck is ofcourse an A...And my tiltle dreams are over....out in 10th place, the final table bubble.....
Depressing yes but overall im very happy. I played almost perfectly, never got impatient and in the end used my heads up skills to turn a horrible day card wise into a 10th place finish...
Shockingly i made no friends....not 1 person said GG when i left...i think they all knew had i won that hand the tourny was mine and they had all dodged a bullett.
Realized a few things...1 i hate people...lol seriously the ppl who play these events, myself included are like the weirdest ppl you can find...A collection of misfits and oddballs....i dont like live poker much at all to be frank..i won almost 700 , i could win that in 2 nights of 3/6 or even 1 night of 10/20 and be in my bed by 1 am having never left the house....Just doesnt make much sense to play these events finaceially speaking..But ill be back im sure!!! <><>
