I'm no poker pro, but the final table plays would not survive most local saturday night games. All in's with 10-9...2's and 4's etc., etc., I'm amazed. The edits take out the "vanilla" for TV time purposes, but I can see why the professionals complain so loudly about bad plays & players.

This final table was weak on tv. They only showed about 4 hands of heads up play out of 100+. The very first hand of heads up, they didn't even show. Left me wondering when i read blog about it...seemed like an interesting starting hand and definitely televisable (is that a word) with a board of 10-K-10, K, K and Demidov taking down an 8M pot with a bet after river.

it was just nice to see 9 classy guys . no scotty n. melts downs . no hellmuth calling other guys idiots .

“I really had no idea how he was going to play heads-up and he has way more experience than me. So maybe I was playing a bit passive and sometimes I made the bad calls when I should have just folded,” said Demidov. “I still called way too much and it cost me a lot of chips. I also made a few big bluffs at the wrong time.”
