All you have to do to beat OU is tackle in the open field. Whether they see Bama or Florida, both these teams will hold OU to under 30. Texas Tech was a pathetic excuse for a fundamental defense, OSU started strong but faded. It's amazing to see the strategy and the pizzazz of teams these days, but football still comes down to fundamental tackling... it's as simple as that.

If Bama plays OU, they'll man-handle the OU D-line. 28-24 Bama.

If Tebow sees that OU defense, he'll hang 50+ guaranteed. 51-31 FLA.

come on noles dont you want us to beat your rival? shit!

I'm gonna be a huge Bama fan next weekend.

But the team isn't as good as they've played this year. Weak schedule and great coaching has gotten them this far. Wouldn't be shocked at all to see them lose each of their next two games by double digits.

First you have to put the asterisk next to the 2pete...

When the Pac-10 and the big-10 put together a "championship" game (northern/southern division for the pac -10 and an east/west division for the big 10) they will get the exposure needed to give them a betteer shot at the championship game.

Example: who ever wins the Florida/Alabama game [will] be in the national championship game (right or wrong).

I have a better idea. Why don't the SEC and B-12 shed 2 worthless teams each and play a full 9-game schedule like the Pac-10 does and nobody have any championship games? The way it is now, a team can "luck out" and end up in the championship game without playing as hard a schedule as the others. Not so in the Pac-10 where everyone plays everyone else. No excuses.

Good point(s) Mr. Conan

When a conferance plays a full slate against [all] teams (such as the Pac-10) a true champion is determined via the win/loss route and [all] teams have a shot at the conferance championship.

do they alternate home games each year?

What would happen in the event of a tie? You know how ambigous this BCS business is.

Oh well, a win is a win. Something the Pac-shit never does is win Titles. 2 ouright titles for the Pac-shit since 1970 and no asterisk. Very impressive!!

Um, why not get a championship game? The pac-shit sucks, who cares that you have to play all those shit teams, the b12 and sec teams would welcome it.

HAHAHA... The SEC's record over the last 7 years vs the Pac-10 is 4-7. (Very impressive.) I guess that would mean you guys can't even whup this "shitty" conference. What's that say about you? By the way 3 of those 4 wins were against teams in the Pac-10 with a losing record (Cal @ TN). Take LSU and USC out of that and it's even worse. This year? You went 1-1 vs Pac-10 teams with a combined 7 wins between them. Very nice work. Geezus, you couldn't even beat a 4-win UCLA team with a first time starter and they've barely scored any points all season.

Every win the Pac-10 has vs the SEC should have an asterisk on it.

By the way, I count 6 NC's since the 70's. That's AP, Coaches Poll and BCS since there was no BCS before the late 90's. At least try to get your facts straight. Or did you overhype the conference in a bad way on purpose just to fool everyone? Tsk tsk tsk. Didn't your mother teach you not to lie?

TN was ranked 112 in offense and 116 in defense out of 119 teams. and you are bragging that UCLA beat them?

Mack, in the event of a 2-way tie, head to head takes the ring. If there are 3 tied teams, they compare W/L vs common opponents. There are more rules than that but it's very unlikely that a tiebreaker would need to go much further. A few tiebreakers down the list, ultimately it comes to a coin flip. Can you believe that?

I think having NO schedule advantages is key to the round robin version of determining a champion and that's why it's the best way of doing things. The only luck of the draw is where the games are played. They alternate between home sites every year.

Now that might be an inconvenience to some conferences like the SEC. They'd have to play 9 conference games instead of only 8 and they'd only get to schedule 3 1-AA teams to fill out their schedule instead of 4. Of course that would necessarily mean lower rankings but hey, why not stack the deck if you can get away with it?

No little dude, I'm not the one who is bragging here. Nor did I start this flaming war. You SEC honks did. (as usual) I'm just proving how futile your argument about the Pac-10 is. Head to head, the Pac-10 beats the SEC and those are historical facts on the record.
