Islam/Sharia Law is not compatible with our constitution, so you're pretty much presenting an impossibility

Exactly.

How can a Muslim be an Edwin Burke conservative when one of the main tenets of Islam is subjugation?

The same thing was said about Kennedy, so while it may not be compatible, I'm sure there are conservative Muslims out there, and that it is possible.

Because he was a Catholic, people said he would answer to the Pope and not the constitution.

The only correct answer. Even Ted Cruz agrees: "The Constitution specifies there shall be no religious test for public office, and I'm a constitutionalist," Cruz.

Ted Cruz would not agree that Islam/Shariah is compatible with the constitution, you are misusing his quote.

Nope, I'm directly quoting him and he's right. I heard idiots worry when Lieberman was thinking about running that his religion would be a problem.
I don't care about Sharia Law, Jewish Law, etc. When you're running for public office, there is no religion, there is policies, period. You are in public office. What you believe as your Religion, or lack of same is irrelevant, or at least should be, to your public office. Sadly fools like Huckabee and now Carson try to blend the 2 together, but they're not. That's why we have separation of Church and State.

Cruz is full of shit as usual. While the federal government cannot apply any religious test, voters can do whatever the hell they want.

He ducked the question, I will give you that.

He's smart. He knows that answering that question is a lose lose. If he says he agrees he takes heat, if he says he disagrees he takes heat. If beats the constitution drum he skates by. The guys is smart, I've always said that.

2 Separate issues. Voters can, and often do vote for blithering idiots of all religions. Cruz is talking about any legal impediment to running based on Religion, and he is 100% correct.

I must have missed where I would not advocate a Muslim be president turned into I would ban Muslims from federal office. It's a personal preference. Carson doesn't think the constitution and Islam mesh, that's his right as a private citizen. If you disagree, don't vote for him.

The fundamental problem with your blather, is that Islam is not just a religion, it's a fascist ideology that has its own legal, moral, social,
military, financial as well as religious codes.
