Many of these looters are victims, but not because of the hurricane! They are victims of the Federal Gov't telling them that they are victims. Gov't been taking care of their needs (Welfare) since the late 60s. They have been taught not to depend on self-reliance but on Wash. DC. They thought the Gov't would take care of them some how, some way in this crisis but when Uncle Sam didn't come through, the looting seemed OK. I had 5 kids, and I guarantee you if my 2 little girls when they were 2 & 4 were crying "Daddy I`m thirsty/hungry" I would have found a way ANY way to make them stop suffering. If you have never had children don`t even THINK of answering this. It`s real easy for some of us to sit here and pass judgement. I think once this is all done they should round up all the looters caught stealing items other than food and shoot them all, sell all their possessions and have the money donated to the relief fund.

All persons who have stolen food, clothing should have 30 days to admit to the offence and repay the shop owners else face prosecution.

I would take what I needed for me and my family to live. The milk, bread and other non perishable goods need to be taken and used.

They cannot be resold and are useless to the store owner as all his inventory will be replaced through his insurance plan.

However all the flat screen TV's , electronics and other stuff that has decent resale value would be gathered up for "us". the looters would be payed well enough for their effort and we would manage our area so that no of the looters (tweakers/dopeheads) were ripping us off. Generally one swift severe/dirty beating would set the tone... that and the fact that its common knowledge in the area that no one gets away with this stuff in our area without our consent.

Like i said, its very easy for any one to sit back here with a massive hard on awaiting game one of the college football season while making bone head conclusions about people we dont even know...

Have you ever even spent 5 hours no power, no food, no water no toilets, no air conditioning absolutely zero communication?

12 hours is more than enough to drive any decent human being mad...Shoot i cant even spend more than 3 hours in a car for a road trip before i really get pissed off and start biting peoples heads off...


Granted that these people did something stupid....So you can imagine how shocked they are when all their stocks of food and the little water they had save up are all socked in a pile of their own sewage from their backed up toilets!!! Imagine even spending 2 hours in a smelly humid, soupy goop of mess with gobs of shit floating by and miles of water all around you!!!!

Natural reaction is "fuck this!!!" i gotta get a loaf of bread and i am gonna get it if i have to gnaw through a concrete wall to get it!!!
