people on their roofs arent the one's who are stealing.

those stealing are able to get around which means they were able to make preparations.

This will be unpopular. But i really get sick and tired of hearing these storm victims piss and moan. I mean these things arnt like Twisters that give no warning there gonna strike. Everyone has plenty of time to evacuate like they should. If you cant for whatever reason. Then im sure the Red Cross, Police, or dozens of other rescue types will make sure you are taken to safe ground. So my answer is hell no you shouldnt steal food or water or anything else for that matter. You know these damn things are coming 3 or 4 times a year so be responsible and be prepared. If you're not requirer to evacuate, then have your shit together before the storm arrives. Being poor or even homeless is no excuss. Theres all kinds of agencys that will be glad to help these people.

Not unpopular at all. If you live on the coast, you know the risks. The country continually bails out people who simply shouldn't live there if they can't handle that risk. You know there are earthquakes in California, and hurricanes in Florida, and snow in Buffalo. At some point, builders and insurers shouldn't get bailed out by the government. Buy your own insurance, don't expect help from the Feds. I have no problem with that.

You answered the question and it was noted but you are turning this into a different agenda here. There is no food, no water, no sewage, no hospitals, no where to put these people, no red cross, no roads in or out of city, no airport, NOTHING!!

Subscribing to 'I'm more important than you' is not how our society has flourished. No, not everyone is altruistic. Among powerful and poor; well known and destitute there are those that would kill you for your possessions if they could get away with it even in the best of times.
