If you were this guy? I was playing a 1-2 NL live game and I limped in with a K-7 off.

There were two other players with no pre-flop raise.

Flop comes down K-7-A

Player 1 bets $20 and I raise to $40 and Player 3 calls and then Player 1 folds.

Turn is a 3 and I bet $60 and after much deliberation he calls.

River is an A and he puts out $100 and at this point it's obvious he has an A so I have to fold it. I said to him "Wasn't it obvious to you before the river that I had you beat?" He says to me "I had an A-10, what do you want me to do?"

Yes I would have folded the A10 as well as most good players would. These are the guys I will clean up on in the long run.

1) not sure why you are limping with K-7
2) The min-raise on flop is interesting b/c you could have limped with Ax suited of anything. So to him it couldve looked like a feeler to find out where you are at.

Once you bet the turn I probably would have bet more - but it was an ok bet, you just got unlunky that he hit the riv.

Why? I'm not busting your balls, I'm serious. I don't play much poker but top pair seems pretty solid after the flop and worth betting. Then again, like I said, I dont play much poker.

You didnt mention the suits, were there any flush draws involved?
Also would be good to mention how you have been playing and percieved by this other guy and even how this other guy was playing would equate in as well.It also would all depend on the feel he is getting off of you ,were you playing in a way,(timing and all) so that he would think your bluffing(or weaker) because you were trying to make him think you werent that strong to induce a call or a raise? After all ,you probally put him on that Ace on flop and you werent trying to push him off were you?You wanted him to call you down? It seems to me (with the limited info available) that you played it well and would have made some doe on it but he got lucky on you there on the end.Thats the way I see it.It sucks but it it is part of the game.GL

I think ur min re-raise failed to protect ur hand nor show strength. He had A10 , u could be doing that with any Ax but 1 bigger than his is highly unlikely. AJ or better u probably raise PF, either way calling ur $20 is a given. Then id say the same thing about the turn but its really to late uve already blew it..u can almost be sure he has an A and if he thought it was best on the flop he has no reason to think different on the turn plus he has a lot outs to improve...
u bet 75 on that flop and if he calls he's got to know he could /will be all-in on the turn...then a set or 2 pr starts entering his mind, If he calls then HE makes the mistake not you.

Meh, I can see that being called. Top pair with 10 kicker is decent.

But like others said, you gotta consider the style of play up to that point.
