Would you feel better with McCain on the Kerry Ticket?

Yep, but it's not likely to happen.

McCain has strongly said on numerous occassions that there is no chance of him accepting Kerry's offer (should he extend one).

Lander,

Which offer are you talking about: VP or Secretary of Defense?

Sorry. VP.

He didn't come right out and deny that he'd accept Sec of Defense.

According to MSNBC McCain would have to agree not to appoint any judges that might stop infant genocide and overturn Roe v. Wade should he accept the VP nomination.

For that reason alone I applaud the decorated Senator, but it would do wonders for this country to end the partisian divide.

I really don't think that he would accept the nomination. On CNN.com, I read that Kerry might be considering McCain for the Sec of Defense post and maybe that would be more of a neutral stance for McCain to take. If he accepted the VP nomination than it would probably be considered an act of a traitor on behalf of his party.

You're absolutely right Alex.
McCain spoke of extreme Republican loyalty in the same interview that I was partially paraphrasing.

That's respectable in a sense, but ultimately it's bad for America IMO (not saying any respectable Dem would have acted any differently).

I'm all for an equal distribution or these politicians. The more they inter-fight and cancel each other out - the less time they have to fuk up America.

A pro-war, anti-abortion politician running on the Democrat ticket?

I'm sure the base of the Democratic Party would just love that one. Nader is down in his knees praying for such a godsend...he'd get his 5% and matching funds for sure.

It won't happen. Kerry is trying to show that he is non-partisan by doing so, but no way is he serious. Just think of the consequences for the Democrat Party if Kerry won, then bit a bullet leaving a GOPer in charge.
