Hope to get a few people to run with...

What I was thinking was we could make a week of it, maybe go to Fenway as well...

Any runners want to give it a shot let me know...

I'm always there for you Jman, but if we choose to do this, then we are setting big goals. I think we can take the Kenyans if we put in the effort.

Are you that dedicated to this project?

J-MAN,

THE ONLY WAY I CAN DO IT WITH YOU IS IF YOU SELL SPONSOR PATCHES TO PUT ON YOUR SHIRT AND SHORT'S. THE RX SHOULD PAY YOU AT LEAST A DIME FOR THE LARGEST LOGO AND I WILL BUY SOME SPACE.

NOW IF THE RX ANTES UP SO WILL I, JUST LIKE NASCAR YOU NEED A SPONSOR..........G.

Journey,

I would DEFINITELY show up there with you if and only if I can walk 75% of the marathon and jog the other 25%. Now is that allowed, or do I have to run the whole thing? Reason why is that there is NO WAY in hell i can run the whole 26+ miles.. But if i can walk and jog, walk and jog, I will be able to pull this off easily.. I do walk 40-60 miles a week and I am sure I can easily walk 100 miles a week if I wanted, but running it is a different ballgame. I am in pretty good shape today, but NO WAY i can do the 26+ miles running.. So tell me if i can do this and even finish the marathon in 8 hrs, or will they toss me, because that's how long it will take me to finish it.. If I am allowed to do this, you will DEFINITELY be seeing me on April 19th.. 100%

I will do the same EXACT thing as SICK.........but next year.

I need time to make plans.

Sick, sounds like you and I would be perfect companions to keep each other company during our jog/walk.

Definetly game for this next year!!

fish,

none of my friends here likes to walk, and that is why I only walk 40-60 miles a week or I'd be walking 200 miles a week.. Everyone is lazy here. If you were my pal here in Montreal, we'd be walking 6 hrs a day and be in tremendous shape. It is very boring to walk alone and the time passes slower. If you are with someone you like and talk gambling or anything.. 6 hrs walking will feel like 20 minutes. I had a friend of mine last year that walked with me for 1 month and we walked about 300 miles that 1 month and each lost 20+ lbs. It is a great way to remove stress and great for losing weight and being healthy. It is also relaxing as hell and fun, you sleep better and feel more energetic throughout the day.... I love walking..

Fishead. You sound like you are a happy well adjusted individual who is never sad. It's starting to get on my nerves.

I walk alot too....unfortunately its a big part of my business, somedays I walk 4-5 hours and its more like cross country walking, hills, fast pace the whole nine...I hate walking ( I would rather be biking) but its something I have to do...its not so bad when the weather is just right...

Guys, running Boston isn`t "show up and run". One must qualify under some fairly demanding quidelines(based on age and time in qualifying marathons). Without question, it is for elite distance runners. I have completed two marathons, New Orleans in 3:43 and Kiawah in 3:49, but neither qualified me for Boston.

Best of luck to you on this fruitful endeavor, but bear in mind you have to qualify in order to run the Boston Marathon.

I would love to, but I don't think I would make it. I used to run cross-crountry and when I graduated I started running 3-4 miles a day. The only problem is that I have not run in a long time. I would probably need close to a year to train. Maybe next year. Good Luck!
