What a runaway victory for the Titans. Finally 2 teams played exactly as I thought they would. Very satisfying win for me, the first such this season. Here's to many more!

Pix POW now stands at 5-2. The rest of my plays aren't doing well, so I'll discontinue that, and try to stay the course with my best play.

DET is now down to Orlovsky at QB, Calvin Johnson as their #1 WR, and Kevin Smith getting back in the mix @ RB with Rudi. Some may say they're starting to gain stability after their 11 pt 4th Q vs HOU last wk. I say HOU just let their guard down, as they've done all season with a lead. One such team that doesn't do that is well-coached WAS. In their only 2 losses, WAS was down for most or all of the gm. As another example of their discipline, WAS QB's have combined for 332 regular season pass attempts w/out an INT, an NFL record. Campbell had 224 of those. Portis has carried the rock 163 times this season, and had only one fumble. Usually when big underdogs get unforeseen wins, it's due to TO's by the fav. Well, with those #'s, it doesn't look like this TD dog has much hope. Especially when DET's "D" is THE worst in the league, and have forced just a hair over 1 TO a game (1 INT, 6 FF). I loved TEN last wk mostly due to their great run "O" going against the worst run "D" in KC. Now we have the third best run "O" going up against the 2nd worst run "D". Not to mention the best RB in the league in Portis (5 rypc). That WAS oline is punishing, and that DET dline is soft. WAS's veteran oline is so good, I predict even Shaun Alexander will rush for at least 50 yds (since I believe Portis should be sitting by the 4th). As for WAS's "D", they are a bit banged up with Springs and DT Griffin out. But, Jason Taylor is expected to start, despite considering surgery next wk! If he does play, WAS could finally get sacks as that's been a sore spot on an otherwise hard working "D". But, all they have to gameplan for is Calvin Johnson and Kevin Smith. And believe it or not, DB Carlos Rogers has held his own against Braylon Edwards, Fitzgerald, and TO. Not bad, huh? WAS is 7th in run "D" giving up 86 rypg & only 3 rushing TD's, even with matchups vs great running teams in NYG, DAL, PHI & STL. Another great # for WAS is Portis leads the league with 43 1st downs. Gotta believe if WAS gets a lead (which they should, as DET hasn't had a lead except vs MIN) they will hold on, and more than likely add more pts as DET's dline gets exhausted. Great value at only 7 1/2 pts.

WAS 38
DET 13

BOL all, and please leave comments!

All your thoughts and comments are right on but somehow I bet the Lions backdoor this one and cover as they have a coach for some strange reason won't give up on his team. Plus, the Redskins haven't won a game by more than 7 points all season and completely play down to their competition.

Looks like we have another consensus winner this week, Wormy! I think any late score (that Detroit will have a hard time getting) will only narrow the lead to 21 or 14 points, with the backdoor out of site, tb!

Great pts brady! This is true that they haven't beaten anyone by more than 7, but they've also never faced a team like DET yet. Except for the huge upset by STL (which we now know the Rams are playing with fire), WAS's gms have all been close due to the competition. Either WAS has faced tuff "D"s, or "O"s. With DET, they have neither. Conversely, DET has lost by 7 or less only twice this yr. I think they only played up to their competition with STL. Even Portis said they took them lightly. So obviously, off a bye wk, they shouldn't be complacent with the 2nd worst team in the NFL. I sure hope they don't, anyway! BOL Brady, who do you like this sunday?

GREAT TO HEAR!! I sure hope we get an easy one like TEN last wk. WAS's "D" isn't as dominant as TEN's, but they could easily hold DET to my predicted score. I added in an extra TD for WAS based on a few TO's on DET's part. And we agree, that with this potent running gm, DET's "D" will be on the field a whole lot. With WAS's 7th ranked run "D" containing Smith, Orlovsky will have to pass to score, and as I mentioned, DB Carlos Rogers has gone up against the best in a short span. I sure hope Jason Taylor makes an impact as well.

Wormy, the Redskins didn't come off a bye. They barely beat the Browns last week, a team that I think had about 100 yards of offense and still managed to hang around. I really thought we were going to see Brady Quinn has Anderson couldn't come close to completing a pass.

I like the Jags to do the job right this week against the Browns who are definitely a distracted bunch. I am also on the Singletary bandwagon for just this week only. I've got Tenn punishing the Colts on MNF. The Colts could easily be 1-5 right now had it not been for a miracle in Houston and a great comeback in Minn.

The Redskins barely beat the Browns yet were up 14-3 and were going to end the game until a very rare Clinton Portis fumble. Skins have good history vs Lions, Calvin Johnson is the only threat here but look for Laron Landry to play in deep center just as Sean Taylor did last year vs them and limit any deep balls-Jason Taylor wont step up as he is still recovering from injury and is providing more to the team with deflections, his replacement-Demetric Evans has been great in stuffing the run. Overall, i witnessed a nasty Skins defense last week-same defense that bottled up Tony Romo, Drew Brees, Mcnabb, and Warner-the skins did loose to St Louis but the defense didnt let up a TD-the game was lost off a Rams defensive TD--Love the skins big, but as you can tell-i happen to be a Skins fan---------Hail To The Redskins

thomasbrady, so true. Sorry, I wrote in haste that WAS was off a bye. I guess that CLE gm was so exciting, I forgot about it! Sorry also about your plays! That's hard luck on both accounts, as JAX & SF just underperformed. I'm definitely playing TEN tomorrow because they have a great record vs IND, and that's when they were mostly crappy! BOL there.

Jstack, we got a winner, even though it was very disappointing as they were down due to Campbell's FL off the sack. DET marched the short field for a TD, and WAS missed a 2 pt conversion which I'm not sure why they went for that. Thank god WAS recovered Campbell's fumble in the 4th, otherwise no cover!

hey wormy, any plays for tonight? or any leans?

Oh, sorry unknown, if you had read my response to thomasbrady, I went with TEN tonight. They looked great in the 4th!! TEN is the real deal, and unfortunately the public knows it now, so lines will be inflated. I hope you were on the right side! See you next sunday.
