In a highly public day, CIN was just one large fav to cover on the day. As predicted, CIN's "D" dominated the hapless Locker led "O" & AJ Green returned to contribute 100 yds to help pace great balance "O". The 1st half cover was stress-free as well. However, the rest of my slate including my normally dependable teaser crushed any hopes of a positive day. DAL & STL's "D"s took the day off but both still scored a TD themselves to destroy my under, then MIA was a complete embarrassment @ hm vs the pathetic Chiefs. GB & DET both had too many TO's on "O" for my teaser's over play. Even my additional play of CLE came up just short @ BAL.
POW 2-1, Teasers 1-2, Overall 4-8-1
IND (-6 1/2 @ -110) got a much needed win after an 0-2 start. Sure it was against the awful Jaguars, but their 1st 2 losses were @ DEN (almost completed comeback) & vs PHI in a thriller on MNF. So those were 2 marquee opponents that IND had great chances to beat. Then against a much lesser opponent, IND blew out JAX. I believe that experience will help them as they continue div play. It is beginning to look like only HOU will be competing w/IND for the South. Everyone knows about Luck & their always dangerous "O", but it's their "D" that's stepping it up w/out all-Pro Robert Mathis. This unit is not particularly stout in any 1 area, rather they play well enough in series. IND's run "D" is doing well @ 111 ypg, & allowing QBs to throw @ less than 60% comp rate (which is even more impressive seeing as they've faced Peyton & Foles). And now they'll likely face Charlie Whitehurst, who is a checkdown master. If IND can stuff the run, I foresee a lot of TEN punts giving Luck more possessions, which is never good for an opposing team. Rising TE Delanie Walker is questionable. If he doesn't play that will greatly hinder TEN's "O" as good ol' Chuck doesn't like to throw deep. Whitehurst also hasn't started a gm since 2011, & last played in Wk 1 of preseason. W/Locker this "O" has struggled mightily thus far, & it should only get worse here. TEN's pass "D" looks great on paper, but that's more because their run "D" is so bad teams keep the ball on the ground. This plays rt into IND's hands as Richardson is starting to improve, his oline is gaining chemistry, & Bradshaw is a threat every touch. If TEN doesn't stop the run this will be a blowout. IND owns a 5 gm win streak (SU & ATS) against TEN & there's no reason why that shouldn't continue.
