Boy those CAR Panties sure disappointed. I regretted making them my top play early, as I had a bad feeling about the gm. I just loved CAR's road record. I forgot to factor in MIN's ferocious pass rush, which turned out to be the difference as the sack, fumble return TD sunk my POW. But, not like any of my other plays did well, as in Mac's contest I laid an egg. I did end up playing MIA & TB small, but failed to see the better value in both plays.
POW is now a dismal 1-2, Monday nighters 1-0.
Okay, back on the saddle. SD finally got the win they've been craving, and in style too. Favre was under pressure all night, and Rivers kept up his league leading QB Rating despite his pick-6. OAK on the other hand gave up 17 pts in only 8 minutes of play, to blow their improbable win @ BUF. Now, as everyone knows, there's rumblings of Kiffin being fired, and the players not knowing how to react around their "dead man walking" HC. Al Davis is a complete jackass, and is toying with Kiffin and the media to satisfy his infinite ego. Unfortunately, his team is the one that's being sacrificed. Add on key injuries to their top 2 RB's (McFadden & Fargas), starting RG Carlisle, and starting dlinemen Warren, Burgess, & Asomugha, and this team is in turmoil heading into sunday. SD is hyped up to rebuild their season, and OAK is on it's way to the gutters with inner chaos. For the trendy types, SD is 7-0 SU, 6-1 ATS vs OAK, and 4-0 SU & ATS @ OAK. So there's obviously no looking past OAK when it comes to SD. They say Shanahan has a good record vs OAK, SD looks much better there. Another positive for SD is the return of oline captain, Nick Hardwick, who I think is key to LT getting better #'s. The line seems to be keeping steady for now, so that's a good sign, although I've seen a few 8's out there.
