Capped everything correctly for POW except the obvious rust ATL’s “O” needed to shake off after not playing @ all during preseason. Plus it’s a new coaching staff & Raheem Morris is showing early that he still needs work on preparing his team to play. Cousins was obviously in preseason form as he couldn’t even motion his TE on time, which led to that 3rd Q fumble. ATL’s “D” did just fine against that patchwork oline, minus those big plays to Pickens. MIA was extremely lucky to force a fumble on Etienne near the goal line to pull off that unlikely win. TEN absolutely had their gm in hand & was making me look like a genius. Then a blocked punt TD & a pick-6 greased those skids to ruin a great gm from TEN’s “D”. Levis most definitely still has a long way to go to be a starting NFL QB. Finally, CIN absolutely crapped the bed to blow up my Teaser & complete one of the worst Wk 1’s for me in recent memory. The cherry on top was the Thurs gm where I saw my team’s season go down the toilet & likely Tua’s last gm in the NFL. When it rains it pours.
Regular Season POW 0-1, Teasers 0-1, GOY 0-0, Overall 1-4-1
IND -2 ½ had a marquee matchup vs div rival HOU @ hm where Richardson once again showed his potential & downside. Misreads, missed throws, poor decision making all define his downside however just like Josh Allen, there’s so much talent & big-play ability to overcome most of that. I feel he continues that trend @ GB where he’ll put his team in bad spots, but also hit several HRs. That’s a far better situation than Whachu Talkin Bout Willis for GB. Jordan Love is actually listed as questionable, but I believe that’s gamesmanship from LaFleur to help double IND’s gametape review. Willis is 1-2 SU as a pro with a 0:3 TD-to-INT ratio and 52.2 completion %. He's been sacked 15 times on just 94 dropbacks, including one on two dropbacks in Brazil. His 16% sack rate is the highest of any quarterback with at least 90 dropbacks since ’18. Buckner & co have to be licking their chops. To make things worse, Willis only joined the team 3 wks ago. LaFleur is a very good coach, but that is not enough time even w/a seasoned veteran to be up to speed to win a gm vs a PO contender. IND will stack the box to stop Jacobs & Willis from beating them on the ground, which will lead to 3rd & longs where Willis can be TO prone. GB’s “D” gave up a lot on the ground, & had difficulty w/Hurts another running QB. So I fully expect Richardson & Jonathan Taylor to make some hay on the ground. Both teams are banged up, but the loss of Love is the game changer. IND could get stud WR Josh Downs back for this one for another weapon Richardson is comfortable with.
