WAS stunk it up vs SEA, as injuries to WAS's "D" made the gm much closer than it should've. Portis had an inspiring performance, but it was Betts' FL that cost me the cover as WAS may have kicked a late FG or scored a TD if he had held on. As it was, I was lucky to get the tie and shalt move forward.

Well, with that meager POW pick last wk, now leads me to this wk's GOY. The NYG are clearly the best team in football now. I was waiting for TEN's first loss before anointing the Gmen. I still believe TEN & NYG's "D"s are conquerable, with NY having a better pass rush. What really separates the 2 is WR's. Even with Burress out, NYG's WR's are very good. Toomer is still a stable, veteran presence, and Hixon/Smith/Sinorice are young talents. Throw in athletic TE Boss in the mix, and you can see why Eli is having continued success off his SB MVP run. But, of course, the main reason for his success is his line. They are dominating the line of scrimmage, giving Eli ample time to scan the field, and more importantly, leading the way for a bruising run gm. Jacobs is a beast, and both Ward & Bradshaw are easily picking up where Brandon leaves off. This is why even if Jacobs doesn't play (which I'm fairly certain he will), this is still a great gm for NY. Their "D" may struggle to shut down Portis completely, but they will do enough to allow Eli & co to cover 3 1/2. Tuck is leading a great run stuffing, and pass rushing front 7 that is terrorizing opposing "O"s. And their secondary is taking advantage of this, getting 15 INT's, returning 2 of them for TD's. WAS was winning gms earlier because of their "D" and Portis. When their "D" began sustaining critical injuries, gms started to get real close, even vs the terrible teams. WAS has been lucky to keep gms close and then winning them in the end. But now that their front 7 more than likely will be gutted this sunday, it will come at the worst possible time. Sack leader Andre Carter, DT's Griffin & Golston, and tackles leader Fletcher are all game time decisions. And it looks highly doubtful any of them will play. WAS will already be w/out starting LB Washington. These men are the heart & soul of the WAS "D", which is the heart & soul of the team. I think this will be far too much to overcome vs the juggernaut that is the NYG. And if this wasn't a divisional rivalry, then I might suspect NY to not come ready. But as everyone knows, NYG are road warriors, and shouldn't let this one slip away vs a much lesser team. WAS owner Dan Snyder was smart in saving this gm for Sean Taylor's induction into their ring of honor, and will surely pump up their "D". This may work for the 1st half, but come 2nd half, WAS will be worn down with little depth on "D", and NY will literally run away.
