What do you know? Odd numbered wk = loser. Unbelievable streak I got going this season. NY came out completely flat & uninterested, which I don’t understand. They’re only 2 gms behind DAL, & WAS & MIN are rt there w/them for WC spot. Anyway, ended up losing by a mere pt there, & TEN decided to spot IND 21 pts before they actually started to play football. MIA’s awesome comeback win over LA saved the day. What a gritty performance by Tannehill, Parker & that oline. Adam Gase could’ve also settled for a FG to tie the gm, but decided to keep throwing for the endzone & got it. So proud of these Dolphins. Teaser continues to roll in what used to be a normal thing several yrs ago.
POW 5-4-2, Teasers 9-2, Overall 31-16-2 (32-16-2 undocumented), GOY 0-1.
BAL (-3 ½) is currently tied for 1[SUP]st[/SUP] place in AFC North w/PIT. Trailing just 1 ½ gms behind them is CIN. So this is an important one for both sides. CIN has actually won the last 4 times they met, so Harbaugh hasn’t beaten the Bungles since 2013! But, this was during the time of BAL’s SB hangover, where they lost key players like Anquan Boldin & Ray Lewis. BAL began collecting young players on “D” & they’re finally beginning to pay dividends. BAL is #2 in total “D” & #8 in scoring. They’re #1 vs the run, which doesn’t matter w/CIN here, but are also #7 vs the pass, have 23 sacks & the 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] most INTs in the NFL. That is very much a factor vs the injured Bengals. Gone are their top 2 weapons in AJ Green & Gio Bernard. Those 2 have racked up 1600 yds & 6 TDs in just under 10 gms. Green has eaten up the Ravens to the tune of 726 yds & 6 TDs in just 8 tilts. So to say Green was important in CIN’s gms w/BAL is an understatement. Now rookie Tyler Boyd, TE Eifert & Jeremy Hill (20[SUP]th[/SUP] best RB) will need to take pressure off Dalton, who is the 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] most sacked QB. CIN’s “D” has all kinds of ailments to their LBs & secondary. They’re 5[SUP]th[/SUP] worst against the run, so West & Dixon have a chance to bring some much needed balance to BAL’s “O” & take the ball out of “Jumpball” Joe’s hands. Even if Flacco must air it out to move the ball, Steve Smith, Wallace & Aiken can get open against this secondary. This is a major revenge gm for BAL & should smell blood in the water @ hm against the wounded Bengals.
