Woodbine Fri Night

I hate to cap races too far in advance when a freaking severe cold snap arrives. i have found that front runners in minus 28 degree weather get chewed up most nights on that long Woodbine backstretch so I suggest that you take a long look at a couple of races before you bet heavy on anyone. If those horses that like the cover and have a good closing kick are apparent, then be ready to change gears tonight.

That said:

race1: #6 Arukiddinme is the most successful mare in the pack and does have the ability to take this field. #5 Cams Bright lite should be the chalk. #2 Blego could be the spoiler.

Nothing in this race excites me. Electoral is a solid performer at times but the dropping angle makes him playable tonight against this group. #7 I gotta wanna and #9 King Rova are the two other horses I am eyeing.

Race 5: This is chalk full 'o gamers! The field in this one is a solid coin toss in my opinion. I will try and work through it logically and come up with something that god willing will happen :hump: #3 Successful boy proved last week that running at this level from the 6 hole is not a problem. This horse will be there. #2 PH Joe is on the drop and seems to bring his "A-Game " every other week and can push this field out to a 1:53 even when drawing an outer post. The fact that Zeron is taking the reigns for the first time could be all it takes. #8 Blue Clear Sky scares me. This horse is beginning to find a rhythm and MAY surprise at this level along with #9 Great as Gretz.

Valley Electric will see a hefty wager tonight from me. Good form and the ability to take this same group makes her a very comfortable bet in my opinion.
Lucky Irma and Renees Queen will be right in there. Lookettepoedunk had a great year in '04 but has recently had trouble finding the game.

Tonight is normal at Wdb when the mercury dips below -20. Weird things happen. Frontrunners nostrils freeze shut and your "scared" horses come out of nowhere. I did lay a good bet on Iras when I saw those ridiculous fat odds on her though. She SHOULD have been 2-1 or less.

Let's see what happens with the balance - I have been treading lightly for the most part here.

I hate to cap races too far in advance when a freaking severe cold snap arrives. i have found that front runners in minus 28 degree weather get chewed up most nights on that long Woodbine backstretch so I suggest that you take a long look at a couple of races before you bet heavy on anyone. If those horses that like the cover and have a good closing kick are apparent, then be ready to change gears tonight.

If it is any benefit trytry, I use a different strategy than some to cover my ass when horses are falling just shy.
If the game looks solid I'll run big "win" bets but on a night like last night where I was questioning things going in, I'll bet across the board in a
1 unit - 2 unit - 3 unit manner.

The only two races that I hit with Sizeable "win" bets were Valley Electric & Dr Pete (no place or show)
I cought a few others on the place or show side and it saved some dollars.
