I will post WNBA plays here starting today. I am 7-0 so far. I was posting elsewhere and games are up on that site. Was a college scout for Women's basketball. Got a good feel for WNBA.
Today Phoenix -3 1/2

I am not. Nobody go's there. They offered me some incentives because they wanted to build the forum. Less then 10 people there. I am wasting my time

Incentives obviously not good enough but any forum that offers one incentives to stay put tells me the person must be pretty damm good or maybe impoortant. So welcome to this forum and lets see what you can do with the light weights.

I guess that makes you 8-0, though 1-0 here.
Good start in any case.

There are 3 plays today. What I do I put into a mechanical format. No emotions are involved. I do not feel strongly about the plays today. Though they qualify to be played they barely qualify.
Word has it that Bill Laimbeer quit as coach because he did not see the fire in their belly attitude and that the team's ability has gone down hill. Injuries etc. have decimated San Antonio. Minnesota was hurt badly with one of the top 10 players out for the season.
Todays plays
Atlanta - 4 1/2 no play at -5 1/2
Phoe- -1 1/2 do not play if it gos to 2 1/2
Sacr- +5 or +5 1/2. I got it at +5 1/2
I expect my winning streak to end today. Indiana is almost a play and San Antonio is +10 with 4 players out. Might lose by many but sometimes teams come together and play way over their heads.
I do very good in the WNBA. Have a 5 year track record. Worst year was +14 units.Best year +32 units. I will likely post the plays here all year.

SOOOOOOOOOOOO TRUE teams do come together under these situations and the fact that Bill walked on 'em...could be a major motivatig factor. good fortune to you and your no nonsense plays

My Sunday game selections are not as smooth in selecting as the first 8 games I played. I remain uncomfortable with the Atlanta- New York game. Method calls for Atlanta but Atlanta is in it's second year. Inexpeience teams do not perform as well when they are ahead in the standings to veteran teams. They also barely qualified as a play. I do not have sufficient data that suggests whether to play teams in this position. There is not enough evidence to support either position. Perhaps I should compromise and make them a 1/2 unit play or pass them completely . I personally played only the Phoe. and Sacr. game and at 1/2 units . Strange how all 3 games presented problems. The first 8 I played were no brainers. These were not . All 3 barely qualified and had nuances that were troublesome to decipher. Hope to go 2-1 today.

best can find Sac is +4, havent seen +5 all day...assume +4 not a play?

best to pass if you dont feel comfortable....just makes us queezy listening to your inner turmoil....better to not post at all then post with 2nd thoughts..picks should shout "winner" not "not so sure"...its a confidence thing...pass and forget the 1/2 unit bs

Sunday I gave out three plays and felt queezy about all 3. I sleep over it and woke up knowing why. I have been handicapping sucessfully for years and I am still not to old to learn. I will share with you what I learned.
All three plays showed up as plays using information from THIS YEAR'S performance only . Throughout the years I have sometimes felt uncomforable about somes games I liked using my strict rules but did not want to play them but had no tangible evidence as to why.
Eureka Eureka I now know why
Here is the answer.
Game # 1 Atlanta had a 3-2 record and NY had a 1-3 record.
Last year NY was 19-15 and Atlanta was 4-31.
Spread Sun. was -3 1/2 Atlanta. I was asking Atlanta to cover a spread they only covered 3 times all season last year and once this year.
Also they were 1 1/2 games ahead of NY this year early on. Teams have a STRONG tendency to revert back to old form even when improving. NY needed to win so they would not fall 2 1/2 games behind a team they are better then on a neutral field.
Game 2 was Phoenix vs Seattle. Phoenix finished in last place last year and were favored in Sunday's game and were one game ahead in the standings. Again a NEED game for Seattle who was the better team on a neutral court . If Seattle loses they fall 2 games behind.
Game 3 Los Ang vs Sac . Both are 1-4. Again Los Ang. was a better team then Sacr. last year. They would fall behind Sacr. If they lost this game and be deep in the hole being 1-5.
Having handicapped for 30 years I never put this in my handicapping arsenol but intuitivelly knew it had merit . I will use this for future games. It works best in the first half the season starting the 3rd week.
Today Atlanta is a 5 point favorite . It is the first time in their short history they have been favored by 5. NEVER NEVER ask a team to cover a spread they have never been before.
Today there is a srong game . Play on NY(-1) vs Minn. Double strength game. Minn looks bad without super star.
I am 8-3 for the season. Wish I knew what I knew now. Living in the past is no good. Learning from the past is very good. I learned!
Cheers

investor, you might as well stop saying you are 8-3. You are 1-3 here, which is documented. Hope you bounce back.
