Enjoy watching a game where the majority of the players can perform practically all aspects of the game with skill and better yet, have an understanding of the basic fundamentals of the game.

On that note, congrats to team JAPAN for winning their 2nd straight WBC title. Hope they win the thing again the next time out.

Ichiro Suzuki may be the best player in the game over the past 8 years.

Eight straight years of recording 200 hits and scoring 100 runs, along with playing the OF position the way it was meant to be played.

They are all great fundamental players and I would definitley be interested in watching every Yu Darvish start. The kid is truly incredible.

However, not sure how long every non-Darvish start could keep my interest. It may get old but who knows.

I was thinking the same thing. I love how they play the game. Fundamentely sound as could be, don't seem to strike out as often.
And the game seems to flow along pretty well...none of that steppng out of the box, and staying out of the box to adjust your batting gloves after every pitch crap.

And I agree about Ichiro...he can beat you so many ways. And they say he hits some upper deck shots in BP. Kind of like Wade Boggs in that regard, he could probably hit 30-35 home runs if he wanted to. He's also very durable. How about that crap where they were saying that none of the Mariners like him? That has to be some jealous bs.

I'm absolutely sick and tired of people saying he could hit 30-35 home runs if he wanted to. There is no evidence of this other than he hits them in batting practice. If he could hit 30-35 home runs, HE WOULD. I remember someone looking at the numbers for this and it turns out that even if going for homers cost him a significant drop in BA, it would still be worth it due to the extra runs.

Homers > singles and stealing and relying on more batters.

Cut the middle man out, this isn't rocket science.

In Asia for all the sports, they have cheerleader fans basically in the stands, keeping the fans riled up, pretty cool. Americans on every team also. And they don't play for millions- not by choice though :)

TRULY INCREDIBLE:
6-26-12

-- Yu Darvish is feeling right at home in Texas, where he's already done something only one other major league pitcher has accomplished in the past half-century.
The Japanese standout has won his first seven career home starts after the Rangers' 7-5 victory over the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday night. Overall, he matched the American League lead with his 10th victory less than halfway through his first season in the majors.
