Texas Congressman Ron Paul has warned the House that he is “convinced the time is now upon us that some Big Events are about to occur.” that will cause liberty to go “into deep hibernation”.
Paul told the House:
“These fast-approaching events will not go unnoticed. They will affect all of us. They will not be limited to just some areas of our country. The world economy and political system will share in the chaos about to be unleashed.”
“There are reasons to believe this coming crisis is different and bigger than the world has ever experienced. Instead of using globalism in a positive fashion, it’s been used to globalize all of the mistakes of the politicians, bureaucrats and central bankers.” Paul continued.

The fact that he's right is a sad state of affairs in itself. What's even sadder is that 98% of the population doesn't want to hear it, preferring instead to just blindly plug away, heads firmly planted in the sand.

parsons, you'll even admit the country isn't good right? you can be rational where some other people on this board go crazy if you say anything anti-american.

You sound like a broken record gtc. Is this country perfect? Of course not. As someone who has lived overseas I can tell you that you are spoiled. You just don't know how good you actually have it here. If this country is so bad, why are millions coming here illegally?

You whine about high gas prices, high food costs, the gov't, whatever. You take everything you have for granted, that's the problem. There are millions and millions of people in this world who would kill just to live your worst day.

You plan on leaving when finishing school. Guess what? Living in this country allows you that opportunity. There are many countries in this world where that would be impossible.

We get it, you hate America and aren't happy living here. Why not just leave now and get that education somewhere else?

You can hate on America all you like, but the fact is there are untold millions of people who would love to take your spot here.

Thanks GTC. Yes I am anti-liberal but I'm definitely not pro-Republican. IMO they are liberals too, and a more dangerous kind at that because so many believe they are not.

The whole world is in economic deep shit, not just the USA, and it's all because of some very simple age-old ideas like it being wrong to spend money you don't have and that sort of thing.

The scam of fractional reserve banking is very easy to see on a small scale. Increase the scale and you introduce a bunch of complexities that confuses people but the principle is still the same, ie. it's a scam.

Canada's prosperity is an illusion because they can't defend themselves. If things really got desperate and the US really needed their resources, they would just go and take it. Of course there may be charades to do it in a way that would be confusing, but the job would get done nonetheless.

The difference between myself and most people who agree with the above is what we think the solution is. Some (IMO naively) believe just spreading the word will get people to wise up. I'm more cynical (or IMO more rational, reasonable and pragmatic with a better understanding of human nature) and so I see a major worldwide depression followed by a large scale war as the inevitable way out.

While most see massive war as unthinkable, I see it as part of the ebb and flow of nature, much like forest fires. It looks evil and destructive, but there is also a cleansing process going on. Just like with forest fires, large scale human intervention has reduced their impact in the short term, but increased the threats down the road with trees growing closer together and that sort of thing.

Honestly, I don't see humans as any better than trees. IMO it's pretty arrogant to think that the Creator favors us over the other life forms on this planet. And I am speaking for myself too. If the grand scheme of things requires me to die, so be it. We do our best to maximize our survival chances, but stuff's gotta happen the way it's gotta happen. Getting all emotional about it to the point of losing our number one survival weapon -- rationality -- is not going to help matters, neither on an individual level nor on a group level.

If the group level is incapable of getting to that point, the only thing an individual can do is to attain and maintain as high a level of soveregnty as possible. That's my strategy in any case and so far I have not seen or heard better.

Americans, both Dems and Reps, should have voted for Ron Paul in the first place.

Whether or not its mcsame or nobama, very little is going to change from what we have today.

Let me clarify this point to avoid misunderstanding...

Naturally there is nothing wrong with chopping down trees to get what we need, like wood for heating or building houses.

Naturally tree huggers are very silly people.

From OUR perspective, WE should regard ourselves as better than anyone else, but from an objective outside perspective, such as that of the Creator, it would be folly to think we are special in HIS/ITS eyes.

i dont hate america, i hate what america has become. you find me 10 years ago i'd tell you this was the best country in the world. i'm just willing to speak my mind when i see things that i dont like, even if it's not patriotic. face facts, the country has peaked and has been on a downward slope for years now.

i cant go to valleyfair and enjoy myself now. i have to keep looking behind my back when i walk down the street to make sure nobody is going to make a run at me. no ethical, moral values anymore. absent parents who dont care. and that ranges from the 1 parent black houses to the white mom telling her kids its ok to get drunk and become an alcoholic, as long as you stay home. too many guns, too many puppets playing the religion card. no respect for parents anymore. no family, no country.

You're certainly entitled to your beliefs, Darryl. But to say that "it's folly to think that we are special in HIT/ITS eyes" is to say that our Judeo-Christian belief system is folly. The idea that man was created in God's image is the basis of that belief system, and that belief system is the basis for our civilization. So I guess it's not surprising that you have little faith or optimism in the future of this civilization.

Just curious where in the world you're planning to move where the ethical and moral values are any better. Maybe Saudi Arabia or Iran, I guess (depending on what you define as ethical or moral), but I don't think you'd be too keen on their religious perspective. :think2:

Sounds like you worry too much about how others live their lives. It also sounds live you live in a terrible city.

I only worry about myself and my family. I can't change how others in society act.

I don't depend on the gov't to take care of me. Regardless of your feelings, you still live in a great country.

You just don't know how good you have it is all.

Do you realize what you just wrote? The sky is falling! The sky is falling! You are without a shadow of a doubt the biggest whining snot nose brat I’ve encountered in a long time. You must make your parents proud.

there are plenty of countres out there that still stress family values, and have people with ethical and moral values.

just think of how bad its gotten here. if i talked to my dad like the normal american kid does this day i would've been taken behind the woodshed. parents dont do anything now because they dont care and they dont want there kid to end up reporting them to the state for being a responsible parent and taking action when necessary.

im in a southern suburb of minnesota. i was over exaggerating about the bullet proof vest here, but the crime is spreading down here now. twin cities though im not exaggerating, espec north minneapolis.

my simple belief is to have a fulfilling life, you need to live amongst people who are also thriving. if you live amongst a bunch of deadbeats, those people will drag you down. and id like to be able to go out and feel that experience anywhere, instead of in a locked up gated community where i have to use fingerprints and give them a hair sample to enter.

Correct. I do believe the Judeo-Christian belief system is folly. I realize I won't win any popularity contests for such a belief but I gotta be me. I don't look down on you guys for believing something else, tho. Time will tell which view leads to better survival prospects for our species.

Move to Wisconsin or Iowa then.

There are still real people there...with real values...raising real children...in real communities...with real neighbors.

A neigbhor girl recently fell off her bike and got hurt. In a panic she left her bike in my neighbors front yard.

He didn't know what to do with it...so he propped it against the tree.

It sat there for a week until she came and got it. A nice shiny new mountain bike...sat in his front yard for a week...and nobody touched it.

You just need to move to a different area...and quit painting the whole country with a broad brush.
