CORVALLIS, OR (KPTV) -Less than a week after longtime Oregon State University football coach Mike Riley left Corvallis for Nebraska, the Beavers have found his replacement.
The official Twitter account for OSU Athletics announced Wednesday that Gary Andersen, previously the head coach at Wisconsin, is the new head coach of the Beavers football program

This is a HUGE upgrade for Oregon State!

Hard to believe he'd leave Wisconsin for that job, maybe he's a west coast guy? Regardless, the Beavers just upgraded bigtime. If he can get some recruits he'll be a contender in the P12.

I know RT will have some inputs about Chryst and Pitt....

As a SCONNIE fan and wisconsin person....I'm really disappointed. We finally had a big-time 4* dual threat qb coming in.??things at least recruiting-wise looked good.

Im im hoping big---Barry--bring in Gary Patterson from TCU...obviously TCU and big 12 can't have a team in Playoff without a championship game. Big ten west is sconnie's every year...Nebraska blows...come up to sconnie Gary

In regards to Chryst, you have to remember that he was the main orchestrator of the Badgers Rose bowl run in 2010-2011. Most fans loved his balanced offense that made even mediocre QBs look decent. His QB development was terrific in Madison. Badgers haven't had that since he left.

I don't know anything, but Ive heard rumors that Alvarez is almost too nosey, and maybe Anderson didnt have free reign to implement his style....just pure rumor and speculation, though.
