There's a story in the USA Today that the $700K figure is BS....that FSU spun the story that way to imply that the girl didn't get much and it was mostly "attorney fees" (to make FSU look better).

This whole thing was shameful and inexcusable. Especially the way it was brushed off as if she was a cleat-chaser (if she was or wasn't doesn't matter). The TPD told her something along the lines of, "Are you sure you want to pursue this? This will ruin your life....he's a star football player."

what I don't get about this is the video recording of the act from one of the other players in the room that TPD took into evidence mysteriously disappeared. IN A RAPE CASE, the video of the act (audio w/video) disappears. How does this happen? Shame on Florida St for sweeping this under the rug and being dismissive about this. TPD sat on this for almost a year and did nothing and the university was dismissive about it.

I agree Mac. Apparently that was the FSU players little game (try to lure a girl back and get her to fuck all the guys in the house). I'm not saying college kids shouldn't get laid, but these "cleat chasers" are generally getting more than they bargained for (when the guy she wanted to hook up with then asks her to screw his 2 roommates). And they allegedly filmed some of the encounters....and Winston was neck deep in it.

As for the payout, yes, it was worth every cent for FSU to win a national championship. They even made the playoff in Winston's 2nd year. He serves a 1 game suspension for yelling "Fuck her right in the pussy!" in the middle of the student union. And FSU fans absolutely love him. Fucking shameful.
