Something really stood up while browsing the forum last week:

http://forum.therx.com/showthread.php?t=231820

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p> </o:p>

I would like your input on LA Tech/UTEP game (I have it as LAT winning by 7+)

And also <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:Street w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on"><st1:Street w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on">Boise St</st1:address></st1:Street>.</st1:address></st1:Street> ( I have it as <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Boise</st1:place></st1:City> winning by 14+)

<o:p> </o:p>

Thank you.

Kadherty,

There are a lot better games out there than the UTEP/LTech game. I happen to agree with you on Boise St though as I believe they roll on the Blue Turf. Boise has far better run defense and Fresno has been scorched lately vs the pass. Fresno has not been good taking care of the ball of late either which plays into BSU hands. Also FSU has not played well on Blue stuff land BSU has owned this series of late winning twice at Fresno. Just cannot trust Pinegar who has twice as many Ints as TD's to not self destruct. Believe that BSU puts QB in better position to succeed in this one. I see this one turning out similar to Oregon State visit to Boise.

UTEP on the other hand is on an amazing run. I would not count out HC Price to get a blocked punt or some type of special teams return to help the offense on the road. I don't like Tech's pass defense though. Tech will try to run the ball but UTEP has been decent defensively stopping the run. They have not faced a back like Moats though. UTEP is going to throw to set up the run. They had problems early on versus La Lafayette defending the pass. I think with the number being where it is, Tech would be the play but I am passing and will probably play the total which I like to go over. I am figuring it to be 55 or so. The better play here would probably be over the total as both teams will move the ball.

Sorry I could not be more definative on a side for you. I actually thought this number would be more like 8-10 in which case I would lean to UTEP, but at -2, it seem like they are begging you to take Tech minus the small home lay.

Still trying to find out the health of Moats. IF, and I say If he does not play, I probably will play small on UTEP. But I will cross that bridge when and if I can find out the health of Moats.

Official word is that Moats is about 80% but will be playing this weekend. Also note that this is LaTech Homecoming weekend. The folks down there seem to also be pre-occupied with him competing for the Doak Walker Award and leading the nation in rushing than anything else.

Kadherty,

I hope you took my advice and stayed away from LaTech. I know several folks on the board liked them but just thought the TOTAL Over was the way to go on it. If you are out there, just wink once
