NOT ONE SINGLE Democrat voted in support of the Green New Deal today in the US Senate.

The final vote was 0-57 with 43 cowardly Democrats voting “present.” They didn’t have the guts to support the monstrosity that would destroy the entire US economy in less than 5 years!

Ah, the old voting "present" Obama way!

Impeachment and green communism with AOC as the "future."

Ladies and gentlemen, the Ding-Donger Party!

They said that the bill that AOC proposed and they all hitched their broken wheeled wagons to was a "Republican trick".

These people represent half of America. Whew.

[Climate change] is the national security, economic, health care and moral issue of our time,” Markey said at a press conference at the Capitol ahead of the vote. “We must act now.”

“Republicans and President Trump may choose to be in denial about the consequences of climate change,” Markey said. “But to ordinary people, climate change is not politics. It is life and death.”

“It is not a resolution,” Markeysaid. “It is a revolution.”

Presidential hopeful Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) was also at the press conference with Markey and climate change activists.

“We don’t know if we can get to net-zero carbon emissions in 10 years, but why not try?” Gillibrand said.

Yep. Typical democrats. I give credit to republicans in congress, they stay pretty united on votes (for the most part) and have done so for the last 20+ years. Although this rule about how only the Senate majority leader can propose legislation to be voted on is total bullshit. That is too much power for one person wield imo.

I haven't read the green new deal but I wish Republicans would get inspired by a freshman congressman and propose their own legislation for the betterment of the country. What have they passed recently besides tax cuts? Seems a damn shame that we are letting other countries take the lead on renewable energy sources/economy such as wind and solar. Re-train the coal workers to turn a wrench on a wind turbine or some shit, idk. Seems like a big win for everyone involved and it would probably bring down the price of gas as well.

FYI, not a democrat.

How about presiding over one of the greatest economic periods in our history - or how about no more wars and destroying ISIS - we would have reversed Obamacare if not for McCain - but Trumps gonna oust Obamacare anyways - what the hell more do you want the guy to do? Enjoy ur country - it's on a great run

This is how democrats will spin their vote

1) When talking to the biggest fucking idiots, they'll say they only voted against it because it had no chance to pass. That position, of course, is both meaningless and groundless, butt it still serves a purpose because it's a bunch of words and that sounds good to their ridiculously stupid base

2) When talking to more mature, grounded audiences, they'll say they didn't like something about the bill, but they liked most of the bill.

The criminal corrupt colluding always lying democratic media will report both positions without challenge, they'll provide the cover that's needed. It's what they do

In the meantime, the clueless wonders will still be telling us Trump colluded with the Russians

I made another post in a different thread that Trump's policies really haven't affected me. I'm a tall, white male with 2 degrees, steady work, healthcare , and a retirement plan. Life is good.

I don't know if its one of the greatest economic periods in our history, maybe-- i'm not an economist, but I'll concede that point to you.

I don't know if ISIS has been completely destroyed either. I saw video of Trump holding up a before/after map of ISIS indicating the red-splotches of ISIS in the before picture and the after map which was absent of red. If ISIS is destroyed that's obviously a good thing. I also have a pretty vivd picture of GW Bush standing on an aircraft carrier with a sign that said "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED" with regard to Iraq. Woops. But I do hope Trump is right and that ISIS has been defeated.

What more do I want him to do? I WANT HIM TO DENOUNCE THE ALT-RIGHT, KLAN, NAZI MOTHERFUCKERS that continue to terrorize people. That fucker in new zealand name drops Trump in his manifesto. Do you see a pattern forming? These hate groups see Trump as a beacon to rally around -- they think he's one of them!! Jesus christ how many people died in New Zealand and the shooter praises YOU, YOUR NAME, in their manifesto.

I read the other day that it would take the entire land mass of 1/3 of the united states to power the country w wind turbines. Basically the entire Eastern part of the country starting in Michigan going all the way down to Alabama. Every inch of land would be covered in turbines, and it would take another large chunk of the country to store the energy for usage. Finally, the cost to wire the entire thing would be 100 trillion or something absurd.

Good vote Dems with this bat shit crazy Cortez in office.

You guys are retards, top to bottom.

Who is saying cover a third of the country in turbines. We, as a country, should at least be having a discussion about it. There is money and JOBS to be had by getting out in front of it.

Solar panels are extremely cheap and efficient, we should continue to give people a tax break for installing solar panels on their homes.

Instead we're worried about 50,000 miners and their precious coal mining jobs. Give me a fucking break.

It's 2019 we need to continue innovate and improve our way of life. Fossil fuels are the past -- Renewables are the future.

You're still a pedofile, creep.

Wind turbines are a joke. There are an estimated 14,000 abandoned wind turbines scattered across the USA.

In June 2007, oil man T. Boone Pickens announced the intention to build the world's largest wind farm by
installing large wind turbines in parts of four Texas Panhandle counties.

On December 15, 2010, Pickens scrapped plans for wind farms and instead focused exclusively on natural gas.

Fossil fuels are a natural resource to be used by man to enrich our way of life. Without them we'd all be Amish.

First time I ever saw Amish bashing here.

A for creativity.
[FONT=Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Calibri,Geneva,sans-serif]Wasn't meant to bash the Amish. Just telling it like it is. I am also convinced that if Conservatives lived
like the Amish, Liberals would be bitching about horses.

He's from PA, he should know
[FONT=Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Calibri,Geneva,sans-serif]The only thing PA has to brag about are the Steelers 6 Super Bowls and the Pens 5 Stanley Cups.
Other than that there ain't much to say.

As for the Amish I respect them like I respect Buddhists. They do their thing and don't give a
shit what other people think.

Kind of like me except for the gambling, drinking and whoremongering. :)
