I assume you have unlimited wealth...good for you, and for that matter the actual price of gas doesn`t bother me personally....But for the economy to recover its a big problem, thats my concern...

Have Americans ever considered PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION, CARPOOLING, or MORE EFFICIENTLY CARS as viable means of transportation?

sometimes I think you guys live in a different planet. you have the cheapest gas in the whole of the western civilization and you still find time to complain. frankly, i hope gas triples in price so you can walk and you wont have as many fat people in your country.

Your gas price is a fuxxing worldwide joke.

Its time to get out there and work chux.

Join the rest of us, and do some graft you bastards.

$2 a gallon!!!

Tell your grandchildren about it, and then start producing some serious realistic outputs.

74p litre
4.57 x 74p = 3.72 sterling
x $1.80 gives us $6.70 a ****ing gallon.

U haven't even started yet!

No, we won't see gas under 1.25 a gallon...

miked429....yeah, we should have annexed the oil fields in Iraq if nothing else to pay for the expense that Saddam caused during his brief stay in Kuwait....instead we took the wallet out of our country's ass pocket and paid for nearly the whole thing....punchline of the joke was leaving Saddam in power, telling the groups fighting him that we would help, then backed out and Saddam's troops disposed of the dissenting forces.....

Only thing will change this time is Saddam is not in power.....we'll still reach into the ass pocket......again.

One of the main reasons I gave up working for a US corp. is because they take the piss out of people.
Ordinary hard working responsible people.

Eventually, you'll have to do all the work, because you're entire attitude is to take the piss, and eventually even the noobs will avoid you.

Work for it yourselves, ya bastards.

The corporate communists are a threat to us ordinary folks.
(no, I am not islamic...)

Watch them like a hawk, they are a serious threat to mainstream society.

and please stop grouping me pal....I am far from lazy or fat...and I don`t drive an 8MPG SUV...Jesus Christ, there are many other reasons than the ones your mentioning as to why the price hike is hurting the U.S. like the ECONOMY...the U.S. is too busy carrying the rest of the world, so stop taking your jabs at the U.S. as for prices abroad thats all relative...you cannot compare.

How much was gas 25 years ago? Isn't there inflation? Why should gas be the only thing to remain that cheap?

I'm Just an old grumpy from europe.

Once the REAL cost of oil starts up in the US of A then we will see how truly efficient you guys really are.

When it hits $5 a gallon, then we can talk.
(The UK is already $6 to $7 btw)

Then again, $9 is probaly more realistic from a parity viewpoint.(5 to 10 yrs)

The party is over dudes, its just that your bosses are not saying anything about it.
Be realistic, who would.

25 years ago? It was alot cheaper, but you make a good point...I would like to see a graph of gas prices vs the inflation index...

The annoying thing is when the price jumps at these absurd rates, and we hear these BS stories as to why its jumped...thats what is annoying....whenever its the other way around the price VERY gradually recedes...

I heard recently the price of gas is now higher vs inflation index than it was when there was the gas crunch around 1980...so it goes...God forbid it becomes like it was back in the early 70`s when you could not even buy gas but certain days....

Realistically at $2 a pop you guys must be floating on the stuff.

Otherwise, you are on serious borrowed time.

As long as the Bush clan is in the White House, no. His family is paying for the college tuition of its great, great, great grandkids right now with all the profits they are making. And if anyone thinks we're in Iraq for cheaper gasoline, think again. The Bushes know how to line their pockets.

EEK should at least give us a kiss when he rams it at us in such a rough fashion...

BUT, he's pretty much very on point.

I don't disagree with you, JMAN about higher gas prices having some negative effects on our economy. But I believe they will be shortlived as Americans are notorious for creativity when trouble arises.

I personally would LOVE, and I'm not saying this for Shock Value, to see U.S. gas prices go to 3 and 4 bucks a gallon.

It would force a long overdue paradigm shift in our culture that might help more people use alternative forms of transportation.

I have this dream about our major population centers once again having safe, breathable air...but I'm funny that way.

The ONLY thing that has saved the economy is the War with Iraq...as for the economy right now with gas prices the way they are, its hurting many industries..I don`t know how you can say that? The automobile repair industry is having a very hard time, transportation , shipping companys like UPS, FedEx, DHL , you have any idea what one penny more per gallon costs these companys?
One penny more a gallon is millions...and that gets passed on to the customers...
