Looks like the playoffs wont be able to get started on time since the Marlins vs. Cubs entire series is going to be washed out.
They will not have a chance to make up all 3 games, so I would expect they will have to be made up after the season ends which means the playoffs cant start until their series is over, plus you would think they would get a day or 2 off before the playoffs start.
This is assuming that their 3 game series matters but it almost certainly will play a role in the wild card race. It seems the only other alternative they would have would be to play doubleheaders each day in Chicago next weekend, but that wont happen because it would give the Cubs 3 etra home games and would ravage both teams Bullpens. The Marlins only day off between now and seasons end is Sept 20 ( not counting today, tommorow, Sunday, Monday because those days are no goes due to hurricane)
It seems the easy solution would have been to fly both teams to Chicago this weekend to play in chicago and then they could have played in Florida next weekend when they were supposed to play in Chicago.
That would have been the solution, but MLB wouldnt go for it because ticket sales would be so low.
